Formula feeding, help!

Hi
I have exclusively breastfed my DD. But have started to introduce some formula to help when I'm away for a few hours etc. DD has taken to it really well, just abit stuck with a few issues if anyone can help?
Can I pre make a bottle if going out? If yes, how long can it last?
Any tips on formula feeding when out - Like heating/cooling bottles?
Do I take some boiled water out in a flask?
Thank you in advanced.

Any tips welcomed :)

Honestly if it’s just occasional formula then I’d use the ready made stuff. £1 a go is worth not faffing around with thermos flasks and the like.

You can make a bottle up 2 hrs in advance. I usually take a 200 mL carton of pre-made and a clean bottle if we will be out longer. To make it properly from powder you need a thermos of hot water and a container of cooled boiled water. If your baby will drink room temperature formula you can avoid heating the bottle and just pour the readymade carton into your bottle and feed straight away.

How old is your baby now?
The two hour advice is if the bottle is kept at room temp from being made, if put in the fridge it can keep up to 24 hours before you take it out and use it, again within the 2 hours. Personally I didn't bother much with warming once the DD's were slightly older, they just took it as it was, especially if it had been taken out of the fridge a bit in advance, and warmed up a bit, if we were out for example. If out for a whole day, easier to get ready mades.

I'd also recommend just taking some cartons of ready made formula with you, and some sterilised bottles - it's so much easier than trying to make up a feed with v hot water and powder when you're out and about! And honestly, at less than £1 per go it doesn't get pricey unless you're out all the time. Obviously if you're going to give them a feed within a couple of hours of going out make up a bottle before you leave and give them that.
