Unbelievable love for my daughter

Does anyone else feel overwhelming love for their child so much that it makes you well up out of nowhere? She's 19 months now and I feel so lucky to have her in my life. Times can be hard with a toddler but I just love her more than anything possible. I don't expect many comments just wanted to get it down and share it.

Yep 100%. My son's a little older and a million times a day I just think I just love you so so much. And I'm going to tell him a million times a day too until he tells me to stop. He is my world :)

BrutusMcDogface · 15/01/2023 18:33

Yes, of course.

However, when they get older, Mother Nature ensures that you become ready to let them grow up and make their own way in the world! 😜

Though then you might be lucky enough to get grandchildren, whom you apparently love even more than your kids 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes..absolutely a million percent, but sometimes it scares me as it's so powerful, as in what would happen if something was to happen me and I wasn't around as I know for sure that nobody could love them as much as I do( I don't let my mind even go there)...they deserve every ounce of love they get..every single thing I do is with them in mind..I don't want to go anywhere without them, I can't enjoy a night away as I want them with me all the time and sometimes I think other parents don't feel it as strong as me as my friends can have a lovely weekend away etc whereas that would be my idea of hell😂
I absolutely adore my kids and love their company so much, I just think about them non stop and my favourite place in the world to be is right next to them..I'm sure it's probably from a place of anxiety that my love for them feels so intense compared to others but then I think no..I'm happy and they are happy so let it be..but yes to answer your question, I just am besotted with them and am so so lucky to have them☺️

I totally feel you and agree with everything. Sometimes my husband and I do have a night away (v rarely) and it's good for us but I'll have a little cry and look at photos of her constantly and we talk about her non stop. I'm having a little boy in 11 weeks and I can't imagine my love for him could beat this but I might be wrong. I also agree that the strength of love comes with fear - what if.. but I trust in the universe and believe it will all be ok whatever happens. Try not to over think it. X

You have to let them grow up, though. How old are they? (I notice your user name mentions asd, which I can imagine does make you more protective of them)

Wow so does this love continue / get stronger / not at all fade when they become less cute?! I sound fickle but you know what I mean. This makes me happy!

I love mine more as adults than ever as babies.

PointyMcguire · 15/01/2023 18:52

Yup, DD isn’t even 2wks old yet and I’ve been totally blown away by the complete and utter love I’ve felt since the moment I set eyes on her. Before she was born I was so afraid I wouldn’t feel a connection, but honestly it’s like nothing I’ve ever felt before.

StarInTheHeavens · 15/01/2023 18:53

You're very lucky. I didn't have that experience. I was SO drugged up I still felt anaethetised a week after giving birth. Totally ruined my bonding.

Nosleepforthismum · 15/01/2023 18:58

YES. I felt like this yesterday about my DS who is a similar age. Today, however, I was tempted to put him on the drive holding a “free to a good home” sign.

This is a good thing - as letting them go seems impossible now but that's a relief to hear!

🤣🤣

not needy at all! Just irritating. I’ve been acknowledged now so I can rest easy 😜

Muddypaws20 · 15/01/2023 19:12

Yes, completely feel like this with my 4yo. We were dancing in the kitchen this afternoon and I started to cry as I love her so much.

Honestly, I absolutely adore mine and want them to stay close forever (have just said in another thread that I will 100% help them when/if they have kids in the future) but the nature of teenagers is to challenge you constantly to learn how to make their way in the world. And believe me, they do! I know they’ll come out of the other side as wonderful adults. Each stage is a new challenge and you find new ways to love them, though. I actually have quite a laugh with my teen (when she’s not being a minx!) but I also relish ever second of my four year old as I know these years fly by so quickly.

The love changes as they grow older and you become ready to deal with them leaving home and such. The intensity however doesn't change. even now I look at one of mine and the pure love that I feel is incredible. When DS came home at Christmas it was a man who walked in the house he had changed so much over the last 3 months -placement year at uni - and I find myself just growing to love him a little bit more.

That's the best thing about being a parent how that love just grows and develops.

Itsmeitscathyivecomehome · 15/01/2023 19:54

I can totally relate. My dd is 2.5.

I find it completely overwhelming. She is so innocent and wonderful and my heart just explodes.

Loving her is the best thing in the world.

It also makes me anxious though when I think of all the awful things that happen in the world.

Yessssss! Mine is 5 and I literally feel like when you fall from a height and you feel your heart is up in your throat, every time I look at her. I love her SO much I get insomnias at the thought I won’t be here one day…. I cry instantly. She is the absolute best thing that ever happened to me. ❤️

I just wanted to add here that I feel the same way - totally blown away by how much I love my one year old daughter. I just love spending time with her, I don't like spending more than a few hours apart. It makes me want to have lots of children as the richness and enjoyment would just multiply. My daughter is so unique, such a hilarious and wonderful person, and yet I love her with a pureness that I could never before imagine. And yes there is always fear that she could get hurt or I could - it makes me want to raise our standards as a society to ensure she stays safe.
