Hi All

I'm hoping someone can shed some light. DS2 turned 2 in November and has recently started crying for me all the time I feel like I'm losing my head at the sound of him repeatedly saying mummy even when I'm sat next to him he will say mummy over and over even after I ask him what he wants or say yes. Bedtime has become a nightmare I used to be able to do our routine put him in his bed and he would fall asleep himself ( still woke during the night but this had improved to just once a night). Now as soon as hes been laying there for a minute ot two he starts jumping on the bed and screaming for me.
I calm him down put him back down and this goes on for about an hour.

It sounds like it, has anything big changed in his life lately to unsettle him, such as a bereavement, house move, new sibling or starting nursery/ changes with jobs?

It's been going on since before he started nursery last week. I had to leave him with my mum overnight in August (hes there every week but never overnight) and I feel like that's when it started but I dont know what to do about it

Yes sounds like separation anxiety. Its a very common stage for under 3s. My dd went through it, difficult time couldn't even go to the toilet in peace so you have my sympathy. Her nursery advised that when i was saying good bye at nursery tell her what we would be doing when i came back to reinforce the message i would return and also reading books like owl babies.
