Early roller

Just after a bit of reassurance from people with early rollers if poss. DD is 11 weeks and went from on tummy to back a few times today. My other two were 4 months when this happened. She’s otherwise doing brilliantly so no signs that anything is amiss and tone etc seems fine. How common is this? Any need to worry? Thank you.

It's fine.
Watch out for an early crawler tho (dS1 was 5 months, DS2 4 months 🫣)

its fine, why would you worry?

@Nimbostratus100 Apparently rolling early can be a cerebral palsy thing? Didn’t realise until Google. Lovely Google.

DS did it at 7 weeks. If they can push up enough then sometimes gravity takes over and the weight of their head allows them flip. He was an average crawler and walker- 7 months and 12 months so it had no bearing on anything else. It was hard though as after that we couldn’t risk swaddling and he had a really strong startle reflex - hopefully it’s not the same for you!

well, I have never heard that, and have worked in a nursery for babies with cerebral palsy

The cerebral palsy thing...no. Children with CP are less able to roll intentionally. Watch out for the usual roll off the bed that's the next thing to be attempted.

Oh that makes sense @purpledalmation, thank you. This was very much a concerted effort.
