Which potty?

Does anyone have potty recommendations?

I looked at one of those travel potties in boots today but it was smaller than I expected and I wasn't convinced the seat would be comfortable for my toddler.

There are some that convert or work as a step as well or do we just get something basic? Any tips?

Get a "family seat" for the toilet, and a double step. Skip the potty stage all together. Nappies straight to toilet.

For home get this one - KEPLIN Potty Toilet Seat Adjustable Baby Toddler Kid Toilet Trainer with Step Stool Ladder for Boy and Girl (Purple) amzn.eu/d/2EiRLS7

For out and about this one - Potette Plus 2-in-1 Compact Universal Potty and Toilet Training Seat | Award-Winning Potty Training Essential for Toddlers | White/Blue amzn.eu/d/85yl4pp

We got one of the seats with steps for the loo, it means you get a much easier transfer from potty to loo plus no rank cleaning out of the potty which is properly grim. I did love the family seats and would have got one of those if had more than one kid but our child potty trained late so it really wasn’t worth h it for us.

We got a Thomas the tank one recently that plays a tune when wee goes in, it also has a pull out seat that clips onto the toilet seat and a step.

Thank you

Not sure about going straight to the toilet but it's something to think about!

We just got a cheap one from ikea. Kiddo very quickly decided that he'd rather use a seat and step and the loo for number 2 which we were very grateful for

Cheapest available and get at least 3/4. One for up and downstairs, one for the boot of the car!

Dd still can't navigate the steps for the toilet as she can't seem to work out turning herself around. She's been potty trained for 6 months but not step trained!!

Tomblibooz · 14/01/2023 20:22

Ikea one is great, sturdy and tall enough for them to sit on comfortably and not easy to knock over. Deep enough for everything. Easy to pour/clean.

We don't have a downstairs loo so found it easiest to have 2x pottys and a toddler seat and step for the toilet. We've been potty trained in the day for over a year, but still use the Ikea potty for nighttime wee's so she can do it all herself in her room as needed.

I did the 'oh crap, potty training' method so although I had a seat for going out and about, never needed to use it. We put the time in at home first, then when out and about just held them on normal toilets.

Seat reducer for loo - our LO didn’t take to potty at all, but happy to use loo with seat reducer

Get the most boring and basic potty and make the toilet seem like much more fun. It's so much nicer when they can go on the toilet!
