Am I doing something wrong or are we normal!?!?

DD1 (2.5) is potty training very well. She rarely tells me she wants a wee, just goes over to her potty, takes her pants off and does a wee then tells me. Obviously i have no problem with this. Except she seems to mostly do it when I leave the room (fetching drinks/going for a wee myself etc) which leaves a potty full of wee and her "adventerous" little sister (1.5) in the same room so inevitably I'm cleaning up wee from the carpet as dd2 has been playing in it (I know gross!!!). I think this will probably pass. problem 2 during today's nap time. DD1 had decided she needed a wee and true to form didn't call out to let me know just dropped her pants, weed in the corner of her room, then told me later on after she'd had her nap (leave another potty in bedroom?) Again today I'd gone to fetch the apples and oranges demanded of me when she'd decided she wanted a poo (ah progress you may think) No. She pooed on her play table. And yes you guessed it little sister was in it like a shot. As I wasn't gone long there was minimal mess so I just scooped the pair of them straight into the bath. Bonus to this is when she wanted a poo again later she did ask for her potty so I think she realised her mistake (I think my horrified face may have given it away!! ANd yes I know you're not supposed to make a fuss over accidents but it really was a shocker!!! I didn;t tell her off though). DD2 is now also wanting to use the potty and the pair of them seem to want it at the same time (sibling rivallry I presume) but that is a nightmare (a potty each?) although dd2 I think is a bit young? Maybe just go with it til novelty wears off? Sorry so many questions, but I'm really floored with all of this happening at once. Its only been a week since she started properly and it all seems to be so quick.

you must be a fab mum. just think, you will have two of them trained - train one get one free type deal on potty training?

Oh gigglewitch thank you. I'm going potty buying tomorrow then (imagine the looks I'll get bulk buying potties!!!) Not sure about the fab mom bit though. I do try though and I love 'em dearly which believe me on today's performance - only a mom could do!

tis a mare, this potty malarkey. We are on third (and last) time round. have recently had to put towel / bathmat under each potty - which is basically one discreetly positioned in each room, beside / behind chair or whatever...with an uncanny similarity to places where poo has been found at one time or another (is this starting to sound familiar?) the bathmat [wierd] idea is because the current potty-occupant is DD and she regularly gets up with potty somehow stuck on her bum by some kind of vacuum phenomenon thus widdle on carpet.
I drew the line at having a potty in the kitchen, it is under the stairs and covers both hall and kitchen. I didn't plan to have millions of potties, it just sort of happened but it works. so they stay.

yes I've had vacuum bottom wee spillage too. In the absence of potty she has used her shopping trolley and (wait for it) a nappy sack (ingenius really and I'm not quite sure how she managed it?!!?) I shouldn't forget to put it back in the room really, but there's always something happening in our house at the moment which requires me to put down what I'm doing, sort out said occurence and then forget to resume the previous task. So yes I most definately need more potties. Thanks for your advice (have taken mcuh comfort from it). Is good to know I'm not doing something hideously wrong, I'm a bit self doubting at the moment.

ROFL
Lucky mummy, you can be like me, hehe, spend your time in mad competition with children who can manage to wee in every potty in the house before you can empty any
Let the race begin....
[air fresheners everywhere - a must]

Good luck and remember that we're all in the same boat (potty)

Why am I finding this so difficult?
