6 weeks old not drinking enough milk

Hey there! I am bit worried about my 6 weeks old daughter as recently (about a week or so ago) she started eating less and less milk. On average 60ml per feed but last 2 days she had about 20ml per feed a couple of times a day and would just not eat more. Before she was eating 80 - 90ml per feed. She's got guite bad gas issues as well and so I don't know if this is the reason why she's eating less as it got worse recently. Even when she's feeding she is kicking, crying a nd spiting the bottle out most of the times. I feed her expressed breast milk and sometimes a formula top up. Has anyone experienced this? I am worried as today she only managed around 250ml all day. Thank you x

Congratulations on your baby girl! It's been quite some time since I've had a little one, but didn't want to read and run! I think speak to your Health Visitor, or give them a ring, and see what they make of it? I saw this on the NHS website about 6 wet nappies a day, which can be a good indicator for whether they're feeding enough, if it helps: www.nhs.uk/conditions/baby/breastfeeding-and-bottle-feeding/breastfeeding-problems/enough-milk/

Breast milk is different from formula - in terms of Volumes. If she was feeding on the breast then you wouldn’t know how much milk she was drinking.
Definitely speak to the health visitor, wet nappies and her weight are also good indicators.

That sounds a lot like my DD, especially the spitting up, kicking etc around her taking reduced feeds. Turns out she was suffering from reflux. We took her to the GP and they prescribed infant Gaviscon, which she's been on ever since.

The only other time it's happened is when it was time to move to a faster teat for her bottle, although that didn't happen until about 6 months for us.

Hope this helps Flowers

Could be CMPA or reflux and I would be taking her to the GP, it sounds like she is drinking way less than she should.

@peanutbutterandbananas Thank you, the health visitor was here yesterday and checked her weight which was good and in line with the growth charts. The Nappies so far are also good. She hasn't lost weight so far but she is the same weight for about 2 weeks now, which isn't good I think..

@Hyggeandhugs
Thank you :)
I will definitely be booking a gp visit. I wanted to wait a day or two as I was hoping it is just a phase and will pass... (I read somewhere that around this time they can be fussy and due to the growth spur and eat less but I would have thought they would eat more?)
