Just that really! Return to work date set as 30th Jan, returning full time (cry)! How would you make the most of your final 4 weeks DS is 9 months old!

Just spend the time with your DS. Lots of walks and maybe some baby classes. Try not to stress too much about going back to work. It is hard going back but you will get back into the full Swing and a routine very quickly. X

I'd try and organise some childcare and get some me time. Once you're back at work, the treadmill ramps up a notch!

(I'm FT with a 2yo and 4yo)

Thank you! I am actually starting him the week before I go back at his nursery for what will be his 3 days so we have a few days to 'settle in' without me worrying at my desk too!

Thank you! I haven't booked any classes with not being available for the term but I might look for some ad-hoc ones!!

That's good news.

Some of my post went missing... boring as it sounds, once you've done some nice things for yourself and with DC, I'd try and get ahead with any home admin, next holiday booking, anything and everything which needs a bit of headspace.

All the best!

@MamaNolan I found it quite useful to do a bit of batch cooking for the freezer, as boring as that sounds 😅🤣 nothing too OTT, but if I was cooking a family meal I’d cook double and freeze a portion. My DH works offshore so is away for weeks at a time. It meant that I could have a healthy meal defrosted and ready for DS and I to just heat and have when we got home if we had a long/busy day etc. It gave me a couple of weeks to get into the routine of drop offs, working, pick ups, nighttime routine and trying to get myself organised for work the next day without adding in much cooking 😊

DS is now 2 and I still try and stay ahead with some cooking 😊 Might not be as relevant if you have a partner around in the evenings to help with the load but we found it useful 😊

I used the settling in sessions to sleep and relax - this was what I needed before adding all the mental burden of work to everything. It was glorious!

Ooo this is a good idea! We are both around most evenings, my DH is at college two nights but by the time we are in from work, pick up on the way I am sure we will appreciate being organised!! Thank you!!

@MamaNolan It definitely made things a bit easier for us while we got into the swing of things. As others have said, you’ll get into a routine quite quickly but I did find it a bit of an adjustment at the start, as I’m sure most do 😊 Enjoy your last few weeks 😊
