no, not at all. I couldn't stand jeans on ds until he was about 18 months-2 yrs and only then if I found softish denims from somewhere like h&m which tend to be nice and generous in the cut.
ds2 is always in soft trousers or dungarees

babyjjbaby · 03/02/2008 21:17

oh glad it is not just me then i do put him in jeans but only if we are going out assuch cos when i change him i take evrything bar his tshirt off i take his jumpers of cos i find they egt in the way

Babyjj - he's only little though isn't he?

I don't like denim for little ones either. A lot of my DCs clothes (for 'a lot' read 'all') are second hand and that extra usage seems to make the denim softer. DDs were in dungies for a long time which are fab for cloth. For my DS (currently wriggly bump), I have joggers, rompers and soft cord. Boys clothes tend to be better cut for cloth too it seems.

tesco and h&m do nice trousers that are usually cut nice and big.
otherwise have you looked at places like tinkertogs or cut4cloth?

Ah, well my boy will mainly be dressed by 'local charity shop'. He's not due yet and I just pop in and have a look at what is on the shelves - anything that looks big enough gets bought...have no idea what shape he might be - could go either way, very long and thin or very, very stocky like his dad so I'm covering all bases

There was athread on here a little while ago on this topic here is a link to it.

hth (more of an 'expert ()' on girly cloth bummed clothes tbh, DC3 = DS1 you see)

Twinklemegan · 03/02/2008 21:39

My 18 month old DS is still wearing his 6-9 months Tesco trousers . He's not in cloth anymore, but that shows you how generous the cut is.

Asda's, on the other hand, are made for really skinny babes IME. They were a tight fit even over disposables IIRC.

BigBadMouse · 03/02/2008 22:07

Twinkle - my DD is the same, she is still in that size at 20 months (without her cloth bum they fall off . They used to do fab 'value' baby/ toddler jeans for £1.50, soft but last for ages...not seen them for a while though

Octothechildherder · 03/02/2008 22:22

babyyjjbaby - I have cut4cloth trousers and jogging bottoms (Gap) for my ds as standard - we don;t do jeans - they look so uncomfy

Cut4Cloth have a sale on at the moment - may be worth a look there. I would offer you mine but the biggest are 3-6 months.

Will post the bag in morning

babyjjbaby · 03/02/2008 22:30

cut 4 cloth are expensive better stick to asda and tesco

OP posts:
Octothechildherder · 03/02/2008 22:32

They are expensive - but the sale is good.

I will chuck in a pair of 3-6 cream anyway - they have done the rounds a bit - no charge - just send them back if too small and will rehome them elsewhere!

Pannacotta · 03/02/2008 22:36

Next and H&M I find are good and not too pricey.
Don't like jeans over cloth nappies, bit of a nightmare to get on and off!
If you bung a wanted ad up am sure you will get some replies.
I do have some jersey joggers spare in 6-9 but would rather not discuss on this board as I know folk are keen to keep buying and selling on the right board.

BigBadMouse · 03/02/2008 22:40

Octo - that sale is pretty good isn't it? ...I got all the way to the checkout then my conscience got the better of me - DAMN!

C4C do last though Babyjj and they have a good resale value - dungies for £10 on there and shorts for £5 atm - limited stock though so might not all be available in the size you want.

Octothechildherder · 03/02/2008 22:40

Did you buy anything BBM?

I am tempted!

Octothechildherder · 03/02/2008 22:41

x post

Will take a peek tomorrow!

BigBadMouse · 03/02/2008 22:42

Someone stop me from going back!!

nappyaddict · 03/02/2008 23:35

dungarees. also useful for when they start walking and keep treading on their trousers and losing them.
