Nursery nurses - Christmas gifts?

DS (1) started nursery about 4 weeks ago. He’s in 4 days/week but predictably has already picked up a number of bugs so probably only actually been there about 7 or 8 days total.

The staff seem lovely, but we haven’t really been able to get to know them yet and things like identifying key worker have sort of gone by the wayside til after Christmas. But I’d like to get them something for Christmas.

Whats’s the etiquette? Just the staff in his room to buy for? And what sort of present?

When I worked in a nursery we didn’t expect any parents to buy us a gift and were incredibly grateful for any presents. We loved when parents bought us boxes of biscuits or chocolates to share as a staff and would munch them during staff meetings!

3 workers in my son’s room I just put £5 Costa voucher inside a card and wrote a note saying appreciate how hard they work etc. i did an extra one for a member of staff in another room because sometimes she covers and my son genuinely lights up when he sees her. I then got a box of nice biscuits to put in the staff room. I used to work in a nursery and I did like receiving a card to say thanks, it always meant a lot. Obviously your son hasn’t been there long (and oh those nursery bugs 😩) but hopefully will be there for a while to come so it’s great to show appreciation early on!

I have bought each of my DCs key workers a voucher each and then some nice biscuits for everyone else in their rooms. It’s nice to recognise their work and say thanks.
