Recommend me a baby bed, please

Hi, could really use some help as google is making me more confused!
I have a 10month DD. She's fairly small for her age. Also she's a bad sleeper. At the moment she has a next-to-me type of bed next to our bed. But most nights we end up putting her in our bed as she sleeps through the night that way.
When she naps, twice a day, I either put her in her bed or ours but i am always in the room because otherwise she wakes up crying within 10 mins.
I am aware the above can't last and sooner or later she will need to sleep on her own. Also she's started to try and pull herself up in her bed and she's also semi-crawling so either our bed or hers are a no-go for leaving her alone.

What would you recommend I buy so she can still sleep in our room at night but maybe nap on her own during the day? Ideally something not too expensive but that would last us a few years through toddlerhood

They move out of a next to me into a cot. You could buy a cot bed which would last her until around three once you drop the sides down. Do you have room for it in your room?

Mine left our room at 7months and went into their cots in their rooms, then an actual bed at around two.

But you do you, and what's best for you and your baby.

Travel cots are usually big enough to last from baby to toddler-ish

Thank you @boogiejive ! Any recommendations for a cotbed? Depending on size , we might be able to fit it un our room ( barely)

Depends how much space you have in your room. We moved out of a next to me into a cotbed with the side removed and then attached to our bed in the same way a next to me is, so just a large co-sleeper really.

He just naps on our bed during the day.

We have just moved the cotbed with the side down into his bedroom a few days ago and he is sleeping in there until his first wake up and then he comes into bed with us. DS is 15mo but could climb out of the cot by 9months (which is why we attached it to our bed in the first place).

We plan to use this until he outgrows it and is ready for a single.

Secondary question: when we move baby in her own room, what options are there so i can also spend the night? Obviously i can't fit into a cotbed... are there any with some sort of extension for the parent?

I got the IKEA Gulliver as it is smaller than a cot bed. She then moved into a cot bed in her room. I believe some cots you can take the side off to use like a next to me. In her own room would depend on the age when you move her. If she is old enough you could use a cot bed or single bed and get in with her. Or a cot with a mattress in the floor.

We had a similar situation. We got a Cuddleco cotbed and took one side off to attach to our bed so it was like a giant next to me. When his sleep got a little better, we moved the cot to his room and he slept well in there for a few months. His sleep has gone a bit backwards again the past few months so we have just bought a small double toddler bed with rails round the side. Although it's a small double, there's plenty of room for me or my husband to lie with him to help him get to sleep or to cosleep if he's having a bad night.

There are also single toddler beds with a pull-out trundle which could be used by a parent but we went for a small double as our little one likes being cuddled if he's unwell etc.

Not speaking from personal experience as our DS is still tiny and in the next to me, but my SIL went from co-sleeping to basically a double mattress on the floor in her DSs room instead of the toddler bed, so she could sleep there with him whenever she needed to (which was often!). Might be something to consider if you don't think he'll tolerate a toddler bed?

She'll*

Get a double mattress for the floor of the room that will be her bedroom. You can then sleep there as well as and when needed. I stupidly bought Moses basket, cot, next to me and I was gifted a cot. Neither of my kids ever slept in them - Always in bed with me until we went with the mattress for DC1. I got so much better sleep this way and now DC2 is here my DH can sleep with the toddler whilst I'm with the newborn. Works a treat and we all get great sleep 😊
