Just looking for suggestions for the best car seat for my 10 month old as she is rapidly outgrowing her current one. She's around 10kg and we are looking for a rear facing seat that will last more than a year.

Thanks in advance :)

Not the cheapest, but the Joie i-spin 360 has served us well!! It goes uo to age 4-ish

We have the Axkid move. DD is nearly 4 and still rear facing in it with plenty of room

The longest lasting and nicest to use rear facing seats are the Swedish type ones, some models to look at - all of these allow rear facing up to approx 6 years, which means that you can relax knowing that you're covered right up to whatever age you feel safe to change to a booster seat. They also have good leg room, good space for the person in front, and excellent safety ratings having passed the tough Swedish Plus Test.

Britax Max Way Plus (budget model but still nice)
Axkid Minikid 2 (self adjusting headrest, slightly easier to install)
Besafe Stretch (longest lasting rear facing seat in the world)
Joie i-Prodigi (isofix and adjustable recline/leg room without reinstalling)

Or many people like the spin seats for the next stage. These are installed with isofix and they last up to approx 18kg/105cm, which is somewhere around age 3.5-4. These days many parents prefer to keep their children in a harnessed car seat at least until the 4th birthday if not past, so that can be worth bearing in mind if you don't want a gamble on them not outgrowing it too soon. Because 4 is the max age for these, they can also start to look a bit cramped from roughly 3, and some of them lack rear facing leg room from 2. That is not a safety issue, just a comfort one. If you are not sure about rear facing all the way, these are a good compromise.

Models to look at:

Graco Turn2Me (budget model, based on Joie 360 spin which is very popular.)
Britax Dualfix i-size (bit roomier and nicer)
Joie i-Spin Safe (rear facing only plus tested model)
Besafe izi Turn (recommended for steep sloping seats, great leg room for child even RF)
Silver Cross All Size (converts to booster seat, worse safety rating than standalone spin seat + separate booster combo, but better than any other all-stages seat.)

The models with booster seat included are usually a false economy even though they are popular. It makes more sense in most cases to buy a seat covering the next 3-5 years and then look at up to date boosters at that time with the benefit of 3-5 years' research and development in the industry.

That's fab and really helpful, thank you so much
