Hi all,

First time mum, so be gentle as I know I might be over reacting. Just a bit of background, my LO in the first few weeks after being born was constipated and would only cry and not settle at night, but during this I went to A&E as she made a squeaking/squawking noise before a poop, she would only poop every few days but this day she pooped almost 4 times. So I took her to a&e and they obviously said she was fine.

HV advised we change the milk, we did and she's a new baby, so happy and pooping regularly. On Tuesday had her rotavirus jab and has been irritable but manageable just wanting lots of cuddles it seems. But lastnight began this noise again before pooping, still pooping regularly a loose stool as she normally does but lastnight I noticed mucus in her poop (the nurse did say to expect nasty poops) she wasn't upset, Infact really smiley as normal. Should I be worried about this noise?

She also has a slight blotch on her forehead and has done a couple of smelly pees in her nappy. She is feeding perfectly, seems happy.

Please help a mother who has been up all night worried, whilst the little one slept perfectly.

Thank you xx

Please don't post a new thread with exactly the same question as earlier, just bump your earlier one ( which you've done already too)

I'm sorry I'm new to this

If she’s feeding, sleeping and happy there really is nothing to worry about!
Babies often get blotches on their faces - might have slept with her hand on it or something.
i know it’s easy to say don’t worry but I really don’t think you have anything to worry about! Jabs reactions can take a few days to come out but they are usually short lived.
Hope you sleep better tonight!

It's normal to worry when it's your first child. Just keep an eye on it and you can always have a chat with the health visitor (or leave a message and they get back to you). If she's not crying in agony and happy enough, weeing and pooing, then it's all good.

The anxiety I have about her health is bigger and greater than anything else... I feel I've ruined my first couple of months with her here 🥺

Mine used to grunt so loudly I could hear him doing a poo from another room. 😯

If she's fine in herself I wouldn't worry, babies are weird.

Babies poop in all kinds of weird and wonderful ways. Nothing you've said here sounds of any concern. Speak to HV or GP if your anxiety is getting in the way of life.

I have anxiety and I totally understand how you feel. I am sure she is fine but just get her checked with the gp for your peace of mind. Having anxiety about child’s health is the worst 😩

I called my HV today and never got a call back☹️

HV will phone you back soon I’m sure. My friends child wouldn’t poop for 7 days, this was just seen as ‘normal for her’ and dismissed.
