Am I being fobbed off?

My son is 18 months old.
He's probably had around 4-5 episodes in the last 6 months where he's had a fever (between 37.7-38.3) with no other symptoms. No indication of a sore throat, runny nose etc. He has been 'well' in himself for the most part. The only reason I know he has a fever is because he feels very warm to touch (and then I check his temp).
These episodes tend to last around 5-7 days at which point I go to the GP because a typical virus wouldn't cause you to have a temperature for that long. Every time they check him over they find no chest infection, no UTI etc and say it's viral.
I don't over dress him. He's a very warm child (resting temp of 37.2-37.4) so I'm wary of what I dress him in to prevent him from overheating.

Would you all agree that these sound like viruses? My instinct is to go back to GP (currently has had a fever since Sunday) and ask for a referral to paeds because I just don't feel like this is normal. However I could be wrong. He is my first child so have nothing to compare to to say that it isn't normal. So I suppose hearing whether other mums had this with their children too would be reassuring

Eh, if he's well in himself while this is happening I'd just put it down to one of those things. If he was actually sick I'd be concerned, but a slight temp and no other symptoms I'd generally just chalk up to kids being weird.

I'd also check your thermometer.

I’d just put it down to a virus that they’re dealing with well. They get everything when they’re little, as well as getting temps from teething. I really wouldn’t worry.

I dont see why you even see a doctor for this. Unless temp is very high or your little one is clearly suffering, just wait til it passes. Kids get viruses all the time.
