Excessive wriggling/fussing in sleep

This sounds stupid and while at the doctors (for something else) she basically laughed at me... but baby (6 mnths) just constantly moves/fidgets in his sleep. I mean all night long. Waking himself up every 10 minutes. Co sleeping, in crib contact napping. He's warm, fed, clean and changed. I've just no idea.

It's more than normal baby fidgeting I'm sure. I've not slept for more than an hour in a week because it just doesn't stop. He has a soothing routine and goes to sleep easily but just cannot seem to rest. It wouldn't be so bad if he didn't wake himself up constantly.

Any advice? Help?! I really just do not know how to help and I'm running on absolute empty now. This started about a month ago. Before that perfect sleep. What am I doing wrong? Is this a phase?

Sorry for the ramble. I'm at a loss

Are you sure he’s warm enough? Temperature has dropped a lot (assuming you’re in the UK that is!) - my DD is a fidget when she’s cold; moves around a lot trying to get warm.

If baby is fed, warm, clean bum, essentially has all their needs met and has had a cuddle and bedtime routine, I swear by silicone ear plugs. I've used them ever since my son was about 10 days old (now 3.5months). I am an abnormally light sleeper, and my baby is a bit of a grunty fidget bum (no reflux or milk allergies etc) so it helps to block out his little fidgets but I still wake for him if he needs a cuddle, bum change or feed etc.

White noise machine or play it with a black screen off your phone there's one that last 10 hours on YouTube. If white noise doesn't work there's pink noise, brown noise etc. try it

Have your babies bed clothes, sleeping bag and or mattress cover on your skin for about half hour before bed so your scent is all over it

A lamp with a stitch that allows you to gradually lower the brightness as you are settling the baby until it's completely dark

Routine

Lavender baby cream after bath

Is it a recent thing? It could be a phase, my son went through something similar when learning to roll over. It was a few weeks of very un-restful sleep.

You could try putting him in a transition swaddle -- this helped both my kids nap better as they don't startle as much (it's like a sleeping bag but just covers their arms/hands so they can still move around but it stifles their moro reflex. I used the Zipadee Zip and it was a game changer for us. We never swaddled them as small babies but once they started napping independently they helped immeasurably with lengthening naps so perhaps it could have the same effect for your baby at bedtime?

Thanks all. @Endlesslaundry123 it started about 2 weeks ago - he is trying to crawl and roll at the moment so that could be it too. Thank you for the advice. Will definitely give that a try!
