Refusing to take medication

Didn't really know where to put this, I'm at the end of my tether.

DD 3 had a cold last week, was really poorly at nursery on Friday, took her to the dr and she has scarlet fever.

She ok in herself, a bit tired and still full of cold, but is doing well with calpol and neurofen.

The problem I've got is that as there is a shortage of medication, we have been given tablets (took big for her to swallow) that we need to crush, or break up 1 tablet 4 times a day, but she will not take them.

We have put them in Ribena, fruit shoot, milkshake, banana, chocolate, ice cream, yogurt, marshmallows, sausage, spaghetti absolutely every food group in the cupboard, but she still won't take them.

I've tried holding her down, and using a syringe but she clamps her jaw shut, nothing is going in.

I'll obviously have to call the dr tomorrow, but as there is such a shortage I'm not sure how I'm going to get anything else.

She is now not taking any food or drinks from us as she thinks we have laced it with medicine!

Just wanted to vent here really, feeling like a very bad mummy.

If she's taking calpol, can you mix the tablet power into that?

The suspension is just as bad, as it tastes so strong. It's really a battle to get them into little ones. Nutella helps us with tablets.
