I can't believe I'm doubting myself on this but it's amazing how being a new (ish) parent saps your confidence isn't it?
DD starts preschool in the new year. She is a very fussy eater, we are slowly but surely improving her range in a no-pressure way. Luckily her 'safe' foods include plenty of good stuff and her main issues are that she doesn't like much meat or veg and she doesn't like stuff in sauces. I'm currently working mainly on expanding her veg that bothers me more than the other things. Has a vitamin supplement and is all on track for growth etc, generally very healthy and energetic.
So for her lunchbox which she will have until if/when she expresses an interest in school food, these are the things I have available to choose from. Will any of them be a problem either logistically or be frowned upon?
Cheese & crackers
Humous and bread sticks
Bread and butter/bread roll and ham. Definitely NO sandwich though 🙄 might occasionally be a wrap.
Fruit- probably one berry and one non-berry, or should I just stick to one? I don't know what they have for snack yet.
Dry cereal as the sweet thing- she likes Shreddies and Cheerios. She also likes rice cakes, are they taboo?
Yoghurt- how do I do this without giving her food poisoning or using a tube that will be hard to open? She likes 'grown up' fruit corners but also likes the Aldi custard pot things. And Greek yoghurt with a bit of baby fruit pouch swirled in 🤷♀️
She quite randomly really likes mini quiches that I make, and also sausage rolls. Are they a bit over the line of acceptability?
She loves water so thankfully no worries on that front. I know I used to refuse my lunchbox as a kid and it did me no good so I'm treading a fine line between what's allowed and what I know she will eat to keep her going til pickup.
