I put in all the other whites to fill the machine up. Eg towels, flannels, bras, knickers, dish cloths, tea towels, baby clothes and sheets. Wash at 60 with small amount of fairy. Is it hygienic to wash dishcloths and tea towels with dirty nappies. DH is currently in mothercare buying washable breast pads. would you put these in too?

Yep I put in anything white which included the washable breast pads.

towels, flannels, dish cloths, tea towels and sheets. I wouldn't wash baby clothes at 60°. It would ruin them.

I used to wash anything in with nappies (but I did wash at 40 degrees).

NOTHING but wipes and nappies! I have 2 in nappies who fill 3 buckets every 2/3 days.

I would wash stained baby clothes too if room

everything and anything

knickers, towels, tea towels, sheets, flannels, bathmats... anything that I usually wash at 60 degrees. Always do a prewash though.

LardyMardyDaisy · 31/01/2008 16:45

usually muslin squares, bibs, vests, babies sheets etc and of course wraps.....

.....that used to pretty much fill the machine, but I'd wash most things with them except from tea towels or dish cloths. not for hygeine reasons; I just always do them separately on a boil wash.

Just nappies, wipes, liners etc. I wait til I have a full load before washing. Am sure it's fine but I don't like the idea of washing tea towels and dishcloths in with poo catchers!

WinnieThePooh · 31/01/2008 16:59

I just put in nappies fleece liners and wipes.

I like to put fabric conditioner in my clothes washes, but it is not recommended for nappies as it affects their absorbency.

nappyaddict · 03/02/2008 23:38

i put everything all in together to make the load up aswell. wash at 30 though.

miarosemum · 03/02/2008 23:42

same here, all whites so all towels, bibs, teatowels, bodysuits, sheets etc at 50 degrees. no conditioner just 1 non bio tablet. put just the nappies on a cold rinse first as if you put the soiled nappies straight into a hot wash the heat can make it all get a bit smelly!
