Does A&E still screen for covid at the doors before admission?

Have to take my toddler to a&e for a suspected chest infection but we haven't tested for covid as dont have tests.

I'm worried if we did test positive would I be allowed in with my 3 year old??

Not at my local one where I work.

Ours had a questionnaire on the door about covid and monkeypox

You have always been allowed into A and E with covid and for a parent to go in with a child even during the first lockdown.

Why A and E for a chest infection? Do you not have access to out of hours GP through 111?

I was in a couple of weeks ago. I was coughing a lot so ended up in triage pretty quickly where I was swabbed for Covid-19 and 'flu. Luckily it was neither.

Hope your DS recovers soon.

And DH was allowed in the idol room with me so I can't see why they would stop you being with a 3 yo.

Not ours. DS was whisked into a side room fairly quickly when we took him ( at GP's request) screaming in pain and vomiting a few weeks ago, but they didn't test for anything. Verdict was a nasty virus but they didn't seem to care which one as he wasn't bad enough to be admitted.
