8 week old constantly crying

My newborn has constantly cried since he was 2 weeks old. We have Omeprazole for reflux which is definitely contributing to it. He sleeps at night which is great.

But in the days I'm beginning to get frazzled, stressed and nervy. I don't want to go on ADs but I've been crying a little today. My DD was a demanding baby too and cried but not as excessively. I think my reaction is normal but I feel dizzy and a bit out of it with the constant pressure throughout the day.

Anyone come out the other side recently?

@Musomama1 solidarity to you. This was us. Unsettled from 2wks old. We went on omeprazole but it was too stressful getting her to take it and I wasn't sure it was helping so we stopped it. We are on aptamil pepti 1 and that's helped x

Carobel in my little boys bottle saved my life. He was constantly crying and it seemed to work almost instantly. You'll need bigger teats for the bottle possibly as it makes the milk a lot thicker!

Try keeping the baby head above stomach at all times - really helps with the acid burn

Tends to get better at 6 months when they can sit up

I second caravel and it has got easier as the weeks have gone on and like pp has said, when they can sit up etc

Mine is still only 18 wks so not completely there but it's got better gradually x

Have you checked to see if he has a tongue tie?

I know how you feel, my son is 8 weeks old and a nightmare every evening he screams from around 6-10 or 11!

He won’t be put down at all during the day, I also have an 18month old and it’s a total nightmare trying to look after both of them at the same time. I often end up just being screamed at by both simultaneously

it really starts to get you down after a bit, I try to let it just wash over me but I don’t always manage it.

I know from my first it will pass

My third was like this. At ten weeks we gave her one session of cranial osteopathy which I didn't believe in and seemed way to gentle to be effective but she was cured instantly. No more crying from that moment onwards.

She'd had a traumatic birth with cord double wrapped around neck and emergency c-sec. The theory was that she had a permanent cricked neck
