only a week old and had to change from aptimal to cow and gate for next few days due to supply in local shop. Will this impact my newborn? So worried.

No, they all have identical nutritional value by law

@SweepTheHalls is price difference just marketing?

Yep.

They do taste differently, so not identical to each other, but they are all nutritionally the same.

Cow and gate has the same manufacturer as Aptamil too

sometimes it can cause a bit of constipation, or the runs conversely, if you’re changing all the time. I guess because the recipes are slightly different but it’s not bad for them per se.

then again some babes seem to tolerate the changes just fine:

essentially no don’t worry though I personally would try not to change all the time.

if I was doing it again though I’d probably go Cow & Gate as Aptamil is most expensive (we feed predominantly ready made as opposed to powder so it has added up!)

I don’t think it usually causes an issue - we used Mamia and then aptamil ready bottles for out and about and I also breastfed a little, all in one day. So mixed and matched all the time, never any issues.

As pp said, they are all the same nutritionally so I'd just buy the cheapest. Changing won't do any harm at all (baby might be a bit unsettled due to different taste or slight recipe changes but it won't actually hurt them).
