he was itching his bottom all night, but it disappears in the morning and he is fine all through the day. i saw tiny thin white threads round his bottom.

im working full time at the mo (am single parent too) so dont even have time to take him to docs this week!!!

is there a cream you can buy over the counter???

not cream, tablets - you can buy from pharmacy.

also cleanclean clean - bedding pants on under pjs, wash hands and anus first thing in the morning, and damp dust everywhere - the eggs can lay dormant and then get ingestes and gthe cycle starts again

my sympathies

wash bedding and pjs in very hot wash to kill eggs too. scrub under fingernails

life cycle is - worms come out of bottom, lay eggs, child itches and gets them under fingernails, gets them in mouth, they get swallowed and grow up in intestine, then come out of bottom again. TIM?

thank heaven you don't have dd - the worms tend to travel and get 'lost' in the Front Bottom...

we got something called ovex suspension from chemist.

despite me doing all the cleaning like told to, when he went back to nursery he got them AGAIN.

Good luck with getting rid!

yes, worms are a nightmare. I think you have to be a little philosophical and accept that small children get worms and until children get better at wiping their bottoms and washing their hands after going to the toilet.

I think that children (and their families) need to be dewormed every few months or so, rather like cats and dogs.

I hope the worm problem gets better as the child gets older.
