Angry mum

I am such an angry mum and don't know how to change. I haven't always been like this it started after my mum died 4 months ago and 10 days after my youngest was born. I shout all day and am sick of it so God knows how my baby's must feel. I can barely keep my anger in check some days and tbh am not enjoying motherhood atm.

Go to your doctor and tell them what you've written down here. xxx

Hiya,

Are you on any hormonal contraception? I found the pill made me so angry all the time and constantly irritable!!

Could also be too much caffeine or lack of food?! I sometimes get to lunchtime and I'm so irritable and angry and realised I've not eaten all day and just had coffee, which I'm sure a lot of mums do!

Apologies if none of this is helpful!! Hope you're doing ok xx

Oh what a lot to deal with when you were so early postpartum, presumably you were dealing with your mum being ill during your pregnancy as well. No wonder you are at the end of your rope. I agree that GP/HV are worth taking to - what support do you have around?

It sounds as if you are still grieving, and that's normal. Anger is one of the emotions people can feel after a bereavement, and yours is still very recent.
Also, your hormones will still be all over the place after the birth. Have a word with the health visitor or the GP, they might be able to help you.

If you're looking after a baby, other kid(s) and still very much grieving it's no wonder you are finding it hard. Give yourself a hug, you'll get through this. Try and get some support in the meantime, from the gp and family or friends.

It sounds like you are grieving and have a lot on your plate. I would see if there is a grief group in your area and talk to your GP. Do you have any other family to help you? Sending a big hug x

Thanks for everyone's input, I'm on the depo injection as I was before my children. I don't really have any family or friends to help or to talk to, they all drifted away while caring for my mum the past 8 years. I have just finished a 6 session grief councilling course and have a mental health review tomorrow so I will be mentioning this. I just hate this horrible mother I've become.
