Hi, my DD is a couple of days into this phase and I think she’s definitely experiencing it, she didn’t like being put down in her sensory class yesterday (usually she loves it), she’s been fighting naps and we’ve had false starts at bedtime. There are a lot of other developmental things going on at the moment and I’m pretty sure she’s also teething, but this seems different.

I know some people believe in WW and that it is also widely criticised, I just have the app to track development but I don’t read too much into it. DD hasn’t been affected too much by leaps up until now (apart from the 4 month regression!) but she’s definitely clingy and fussy at the moment.

I would be really interested to hear of other people’s experiences of their baby going through this phase, and whether anyone had any advice on getting through it?

thanks in advance, Tash x

What is week 29-30 in months? 6-7 ish?

There is a lot of teething around that time. she also may have a cold, there’s a lot around right now. I would watch for signs of either and perhaps try calpol and see if it helps.

Yes, DD is 6.5 months now. She had a cold last week and sleep was worse then, she seems to have got better (we are still using olbas oil and saline decongestant) but she’s still a bit fussier. Her cheeks are on and off red and she scratches her right ear every so often so I think she is teething, using anebesol helps a bit I think. Last night I also gave her some nurofen when she woke up screaming an hour after going down 😢.

Yes it does sound like teething and Nurofen was the only thing that helped mine with teeth. Teething and colds is a horrible combination as everything is swollen at once but once the tooth comes through it’s so much better. Good luck!

Thank you - if she’s going through a long period of teething though, is it safe to give a dose of nurofen every night? I can imagine it is sore for her, I know how difficult I find it to sleep when I have a cold. Olbas oil and the calpol plug ins definitely helped too, and once she was asleep she slept well until a few days ago.
