I need ideas for what to feed my toddler! He's 15 months. Thought I could start a thread for some inspiration. He's allergic to dairy, egg and soy.

Today he's had

Breakfast: Porridge with oat milk, mixed seeds, banana and peanut butter.

Snack: an orange

Lunch: a crumpet with peanut butter and jam, cucumber sticks, cherry tomatos and grapes.

Dinner: coconut chicken lentil sweet potato and spinach curry with whitE rice, followed by the new almond petit felus!

Please share ! Any ideas welcome!

Cup of milk
Porridge with a few milk choc dots stirred in (FF milk)

Bag of mini cheddars

Crusty roll with cheese, offered cucumber didn't eat it

Blueberries, petit filous

1x choc chip brioche

Homemade bolognese with added veg and cheese and pasta

Pudding pot

Most of a banana

16 months old, no allergies - no idea what they do for snacks at the nursery, at home we do one or a few of banana, grapes or other fruit, organix oaty bars, cheese, yoghurt, avocado or soft cheese on toast. Not a great day today with lots of sweets and pasta twice!

Pre-breakfast: Greek yoghurt, strawberries, grapes and blueberries
Breakfast (at the nursery): toast, banana, healthy cereal
Lunch (at the nursery): vegetarian meatballs with pasta and sauce, homemade cookie
Afternoon tea (at the nursery): yoghurt, tea cake
Dinner: penne pasta with bolognese sauce, steamed broccoli

Did you look at any Rebecca Wilson books? We are big fans and she always suggests subs for eggs and dairy so you might want to have a look.

If you're just after ideas @toddlerfooddiaries then this guide from the Caroline Walker Trust has some great suggestions including sample menus Wink

DD was at nursery yesterday so I don't even have to try and remember I can just look at her chart!

Cup of milk at home with us first thing

Rice snaps and toast for breakfast

Apple and banana waffles as a snack

Fish pie and pesto bruschetta for lunch

Tuna and cucumber sandwiches plus pineapple for tea

Then square of flapjack at home with us for supper.

No allergies. She's about to turn 2.

CheeseMaiden · 17/11/2022 07:40

My DD has a dairy and soy allergy and is almost 2 and a half.
she loves chia pudding made with oat milk, its great because you can make it in advance and have it with a variety of toppings.
pitta pizza is also a big hit for lunch time- pitta bread with tomato purée spread on top and red pepper/ham/vegan cheese as toppings, normally serve some picky salad bits on the side.
coconut based curries also go down well for dinner, served with rice
home made banana pancakes are a popular breakfast, served with coconut yogurt and cooked up frozen berry mix

toddlerfooddiaries · 17/11/2022 17:33

Thanks for the tips and ideas! It's lunchtimes I really struggle with! Particularly eggless and dairy free toast toppings! So if anybody has any ideas for that 😂

My 17 month old has an egg allergy

Breakfast - toast & butter, blueberries strawberries a yoghurt and a biscuit

Lunch - sausage chips and peas

Snack - banana & some crackers

Tea - beef stew , loads of veg & mash and a mini Swiss roll for pudding

She eats everything. More than my 6 year old 🤣

Winceybincey · 17/11/2022 17:53

Breakfast - porridge mixed with crushed raspberries and milk

snack - banana bread

lunch - pesto pasta with spinach (sauce already batch cooked and frozen so only need to cook the pasta)

snack - celery sticks, blueberries and crackers

dinner - chicken hotpot with mash potato

will have a biscuit and milk before bath and bed.

my toddlers don’t always eat everything every day. Some days they’re ravenous and other days they turn their nose up at food.

Winceybincey · 17/11/2022 17:58

Almond butter is a hit in our house as toast topping - and it has more nutrients than peanut butter. Chocolate hazelnut spread is also a hit for obvious reasons lol and crushed banana

lilroo87 · 17/11/2022 18:02

15.5 month old, no allergies:

Cup of milk
Breakfast - banana pancakes with strawberries
Snack - orange
Lunch - cream cheese sandwich, blueberries and pepper slices. Plus she stole some of my crisps 🤦🏻‍♀️
Dinner - bolognese followed by a yoghurt
Before bed she'll have a cup of milk

bloodywhitecat · 17/11/2022 18:31

Following with interest as I struggle with lunches for my toddler as all food have to be pureed and sieved. Bread/pasta and rice don't puree well and if they do puree they turn to gloop. I need some ideas for high calorie foods that I can blitz, (toddler has cows milk allerg).

ElizaVB · 17/11/2022 18:41

My dd recently turned 3.
Like most toddlers, she has days where she has a huge appetite & other days where she hardly eats anything.

Breakfast today was a boiled egg with buttered brown toast

A few pieces of cucumber and apple as a snack

Lunch was some spaghetti with tomato, broccoli, garlic herbs & cream cheese mixed in - she had a few mouthful’s and said she was full😆

A snack was some Greek yogurt with banana mixed in.

Tea was corn cob, cauliflower cheese, peas and cod followed by a rocket lolly.

Mine allergic to nuts, and mildly intolerant to dairy so eats very little of it. It’s a nightmare tbh. He’s also gone very fussy the last 2-3 months since he’s been ill

Today:
Breakfast : dry Cheerios, banana
2nd Breakfast: ( we pack and he takes to nursery) Mashed avocado on soft rye bread. Satsuma, grapes.

Lunch: Homemade chunky minestrone

Snacks: Mini pretzels, dark chocolate, oat bar, 1/2 apple

Dinner: will be Sausages, green beans and potatoes ( he will hate the potato and nibble one)

He can’t drink much dairy milk ( ok with tiny bit cooked inside stuff), won’t drink oat milk and allergic to the nut milks.

CoalCraft · 24/11/2022 16:28

Today at nursery was

  • breakfast Cheerios and toast
  • lunch salmon and broccoli pasta with an onion ring
  • tea jacket potato with cheese and ham, melon for dessert
Mamabear04 · 24/11/2022 17:01

Hope54321 · 24/11/2022 20:22

@toddlerfooddiaries i find the best one is cathedral city dairy free grated cheese. It’s the closest to the real thing I would say.
