Gender disappointment vs Gender Euphoria

I see lots of threads regarding gender disappointment (yes Sex over gender but titling the thread sex euphoria isn't attracting the audience and input I seek...)

For any of you that had a strong preference and got what you wanted does it live up to your expectations? Much as I hear gender disappointment fades... does gender euphoria fade too or are you consistently happy with the sex of your children?

Mild dysphoria with my first a boy, euphoria with my 2nd a girl. It fades and you love them equally, but I am so glad I got my little girl as she is my best buddy

I really wanted a boy and had a girl the first time round. To be completely honest it took me a long time to really come to terms with it even after she was born. Obviously I loved her from the start but there was for a long time an element of "if only..." and jealousy of my friends with boy babies (which happened to be a lot!).

Second time round I was less concerned about it as by then I'd fully reconciled with having girls, thanks to my awesome daughter. I did want a boy though just to experience it. That's what I'm having (in a few days!) but now it's happening I'm a little scared about it... All my aforementioned friends' boys seem like much harder work than my girl! So go figure...

I was terrified of having a girl as I've been sexually assaulted numerous times, and the risk of such things is 99% higher for females. I have 2 DDs and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried about them growing older and having to live in a world where women's rights are being sidelined and eroded.

HOWEVER, my preference is only a concern for their safety, I'm pregnant with pregnancy number 7/DC3 and I'm just desperate for a healthy baby, regardless of what's between it's legs
