12mo with Covid and high temp for a week

My 12 mo has probable covid (I've been ill and tested positive) and she has had temperatures of 38/39 for nearly a week. She seemed to get better for a couple days (and have paracetamol or ibuprofen). Her temp went back up yesterday, she has a snotty nose, is a bit quiet, a bit off her food and more sleepy and upset (is drinking plenty of bm and weeing). GP wasn't unduly concerned when we spoke on phone yesterday, but just feels like it is going on a long time. Just want to ask what covid has been like in other little ones - as most babies I know seem to have got over it more quickly.

My DS was only about 5 or 6 months when he had it but he was pretty lousy with the symptoms you mention for almost 2 weeks unfortunately. Like he was pretty unwell for say 10 days and then gradually started to recover in the next few days.

That sounds quite normal for covid. The fever is a sign she's fighting infection and if possible you need to let mild fever continue, only use medication for higher temp. Plenty of rest and fluids

Thanks for your reply. Sorry to hear your lo had it that long, so I guess we have a way to go potentially.

Thanks for your reply. Her temp had been pretty high at times, and she seem like she is in discomfort (arching her back ) so we have been giving her some pain killers, but no way near the max dose. And for two days didn't give her anything, as no obvious temp, but then it has come back, which is what really concerns me.
