My LO is 10 weeks and since he was born he has always been very colicky and suffers with reflux but I can’t stand to see him suffer anymore! he is screaming in pain most of the day/night, arches his back while feeding, he’s congested all the time and wheezes, coughs and hiccups and doesn’t settle for hours, then only ever sleeps for an hour at a time, I’ve tried everything! I’ve seen several different health visitors, midwife’s & doctors countlessly and they’ve all said the same each time that it’s normal, he’s fine & putting on weight so they’re not concerned! I’ve tried changing his formula ( tried a different brand, comfort & reflux) Infacol, dentinox, gripe water, probiotics, colief, gaviscon and nothing helps! Anyone had a similar experience? I’m sure it’s Cmpa but they keep saying it isn’t cause he’s never had a rash or blood in poo? Just not sure what to do anymore

My son had these issues, he had reflux and CMPA, I was fighting a loosing battle, I knew something was wrong, they actually told me once I was a young dumb mum!! When he got admitted to hospital after the GP ignored he was becoming dehydrated he was diagnosed put onto neocate… as all the other milks still have proteins in that he was allergic too! In regards to infacol advise not to use it due to it being citric flavoured it spikes there reflux, he was also on omeprazole and a carbol thickener for the milk.
keep fighting you know as a mum when somethings not right, I’m sorry if this reply is no help, I’ve been there and completely understand, no one listens. Xx

Furious! How can they say that’s normal 😡Iv had exactly the same experience and was told it was behavioural, virus etc. The HV recommended Aptimil pepti 1 and it’s been a game changer. I always new deep down it was the milk, mothers instinct. Atm I’m having buy the milk myself as waiting for the doctor to prescribe it, long story. You have tried so many things. I was told about the blood in poo and rash, everyone will present with different symptoms. My son didn’t have those 2 symptoms but nearly every other. I feel so let down my professionals, but relived Iv found out magic milk. Previously I had tried gavison and anti reflux but they made it worse. Was prescribed omeprazole but I refused to give it to him.

I had similar issues - was told I was an anxious mum. Luckily I was exclusively breastfeeding and cut out all dairy (and soy) from my diet and he improved. He was anaphylactic to dairy at his first direct exposure so they believed me then. If you're not breastfeeding, see if you can buy a tin of neonate and what the outcome is. The gold standard for seeing if it's a problem is food testing . Also start a detailed food /reactions/behaviour diary!

My baby was exactly like this at 10 weeks and it was Colic. Colief helped but didn't 'cure' it. It just got better on it's on with time.
I switched milk to comfort milk as you mentioned which seemed to help.

I was convinced it was CMPA the Drs I saw said that CMPA is actually quite rare and massively over diagnosed ? not sure what truth lies in that... but with time my DD seemed better and now is 11 months and full weaned including diary and no symptoms to looking back I don't think it was CMPA.

My friend's little one does have CMPA and her whole body usually comes out in hives and extreme sickness and D if she has any diary.
