Hi,
Just wondering what you do? what you use?
how do you get rid of the poo after wiping a dirty bum, or do you just stick in the washing machine?
thanks!

Fleece from the market cut into wipes and a tub of water to dip them in.

Mostly I just sling them in the nappy bucket as it. If they are really poo covered from a particularly bad poo they may get rinsed along with the liner before going in the bucket.

I used fleece wipes and held them in the toilet while I flushed it.

Still have some fleece wipes - they are very useful things .

i used j-cloths (or lidl own brand equiv were v. good). soaked in camomile tea and a few drops of lavender oil. i stored them in the big plastic wipes box that came in the bounty bag. shoved them in with nappies

I use to use cheap flannels (5 for a £1 at Tesco) and plain water to clean DD bottom and then thrown in the nappy bucket and wash same time as nappies.

fleece wipes home made or cut up terry squares kept in a mixture of chamomile tea and a few drops of olive oil and lavender. wipe bum and sling in nappy bucket. also use fleece to make own nappy liners too.

Ellas House and Nature Babies wipes and just bung them in the nappy bucket with the dirty nappy

Washersaurus · 29/01/2008 21:54

I don't like fleece wipes as they just smear poo. I use nice cheap cotton/flannel type ones which I just throw in with my nappies in the bucket.

PhDlifeNeedsaNewLife · 29/01/2008 21:56

I use a collection of old socks! (but I am too chicken to use them for most of his gigantic splatty poos. )

Gingerbear · 29/01/2008 21:57

Ikea flannels dirt cheap
put into bucket with nappies.

JingleyJen · 29/01/2008 22:01

we use these terry towelling wipes - throw them in the machine with the nappies

MrsCurly · 29/01/2008 22:03

I started off with an terry cut up, but have supplemented with old clothes than are stained beyond saving. Agree with Washersaurus that fleece can tend to smear, not clean. And chuck in to the buckets with nappies.

Pannacotta · 29/01/2008 22:07

Best thing IME is to use loo roll to clear the worst off which you then flush away, much better/less stinky and you are supposed to flush away poo anyway.
Then flannel type wipes, which go in the nappy bucket, as these are the best thing at cleaning mucky bottoms (NICE!!)

Washersaurus · 29/01/2008 22:17

I always have a loo roll handy too Pannacotta.

Thanks for your ideas! some I would've never thought of!
I have some stained tops I shall be cutting up and making some wipes tomorrow!
Camomile solution sounds lovely!
Happy wiping!

we use camomile tea in an ice cream tub with washable terry wipes. We make fresh tea each day but inevitably it goes cold as the day goes by and I feel really mean wiping her with cold wet flannels. Any ideas on keeping them warm and making it a bit nicer for her? Teh radiator isn't on all day so can't keep them on there.
