Hey everyone it’s me again the anxious new mum!
so my son is 2 months old and he tested positive for covid on Wednesday last week poor thing :(
he has a very snuffly nose but is otherwise well however I’ve noticed he’s only drank 170ml of milk in his last feed and that was 6 hours ago! He’s asleep now
should I wake him up for a feed or let him sleep? so worried about him

6 hours ago? Yes I'd definitely try to feed again.
If he's not interested I think I'd try and use a calpol syringe filled with mill and try and do little squirt into his mouth

@Hungrycaterpillarsmummy hi
yes 6 hours ago I’ve just changed his nappy and it’s basically very slightly damp not the usual amount he normally wees
that didn’t wake him up he literally has fallen back asleep again
I’m so worried about him he’s normally such a hungry baby but I’ll try and feed him and see what he does

Yes you really need to wake and feed. I'd be calling NHS for advice if he doesn't wake to feed this time.

@Hungrycaterpillarsmummy hes been fed i offered him 150ml and he took it but has left some behind
he’s asleep again now and his breathing is noisy but I don’t know if it’s his chest or his nose
he just doesn’t seem interested in feeding poor thing

Call 111 for advice. I wouldn't be taking any chances with a baby that small.

Too right! When they get older they could not eat for hours but don't take anyone advixe for a baby that young. They are probably fine but call 111 for advice. It's not being a worrier, at that age it's being a good mum

And if you have that gut feeling like what they say isn't enough, get a second opinion 👍

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 06/11/2022 20:32
