Kids only want mum to do things for them

I have three kids, 5, 3 and 8 months. The older two when its time to get ready for bed always say they want mum to do it. Brushing teeth, getting dressed and many more things. It happens even if we've had a great fun day together and they are having a great time with me. It's the one thing that really angers me about my kids. My wife stays home with them while I work, and she struggles a lot and when I get home I want to help out as much as I can by taking over pretty much to ensure my wife gets as long of a break as possible. Does anyone have any tips to get them to change this behaviour and start letting me do things for them? thanks,

Yes, just tell them you’re doing it tonight. You need to knock this on the head - if they said they only wanted to eat sweets, you wouldn’t let them. Go about it in a breezy matter of fact way and she needs to not come sweeping in if they start wailing.

However, it is worrying that you say it angers you. Why angers? It’s a normal thing for kids to want mum when she’s with them
most of the time. I hope you’re not showing that you’re angry?

Exactly what @Maray1967 says
With the little ones make it fun - have a race, read a story in the bath. Have some dad only bath toys.
All kids do this. It’s nothing to do with how they feel about you.

Tell your wife to go out, mine often only wanted me when I was in the house! She can have an evening off with a friend
