Lots of questions! Are either good with a toddler? Are there places they can run around and touch stuff? Is it feasible to carry a buggy up the steps at South Ken? Are there buggy parks in the museums? Anywhere nearby to eat/run around?
Thank you!

There is an an interactive gallery aimed at preschool/infants in the basement of the Science museum.

Hyde Park is nearby. (Diana playground)

Train station has no lift. But nice members of the public always help me up. Failing that, toddle walks and carry the buggy. It’s a nice day out for a toddler.

Unless your dc is madly into dinosaurs, I’d skip the NHM as most of it’s aimed at children about 4+. However, if you decide to go, you can leave folded pushchairs in the cloakroom for free but you need to pay for coats and bags. Since virtually every gallery and floor is accessible by lift, you could wheel your buggy around and use it to store your stuff. There’s a large indoor picnic area on the LG floor, with plenty of spaces to sit down, and a snack bar if you’ve forgotten anything.
The Science Museum is a lot better for toddlers. Aim for the Garden, Launch Pad and Pattern Pod. There are waterproof covers provided in the Garden but as toddlers can always find a way to get wet and messy no matter what precautions you take, it’s worth packing spare clothes!
There are buggy parks near some areas aimed at younger kids, but note that they are usually unmanned and may be a little walk away.

What age is the science museum good for? Is it interactive?
