Currently weaning since 6 months but need some advice or guidance

Could anyone give me an example of a schedule they do when weaning, including when they giving bottles between solids and also how much solids to be giving at 7 months

Thanks

Order yourself a couple of weaning books. What Mummy Makes, Joe Wicks and Annabel Karmel are all good places to start.

No idea where you are with weaning at the moment but basically just start offering them food at mealtimes and don't get hung up on how much they are eating. They can be offered whatever you are eating as long as it's not made with salt or sugar. I used to whizz it with a hand blender initially. As they get more interested you can increase the number of times you offer food so you would start offering eg lunch only and then add breakfast and then finally dinner.just reduce the milk intake as the baby eats a bit more. If you're bf you can just carry on as you usually would and if it's bottle then gradually reduce feeds by cutting one feed at a time in line with how much your baby is eating.

Hi @19annie86 there's a weaning section on MN under "Feed the World" which you might find helpful.

But if you're after a schedule, there are some in this guide from he Caroline Walker Trust Wink

My main focus when I started weaning DS was he was to get more milk than food at 6 months. I started with dinner so one meal a day until I felt he wanted more. I took his lead around 8 months he was having lunch and dinner but between the 6-8 month mark he'd often have a snack around lunch time.
By about 10 months he was having 3 meals a day and having about 8oz in the morning, afternoon then before bed. He wouldn't always want his 8oz but as long as he was having some milk I wasn't too concerned that being in his bottle or food.

By 11 months he really didn't want his formula at all and would maybe take about 6oz all day.

By one year he had cows milk at bed and in his breakfast/food.

I really did follow his lead. They don't need to be over fed on food so try not to stress at that as long as they're having their milk.

I started with breakfast as found baby porridge/ ready break an easy thing to start with. Then have milk after. First took a while second was up to three meals in a month as he loved solids. Just give them different bits some finger food as well as purées worked well for mine. Don't worry it doesn't have to be the same every day in the early days do what works for you.
