Jumpers recommendations?

Thinking of buying a jumperoo for when baby outgrows her playmat. Any recommendations on one that is sturdy and safe but not too bulky? Also with settings good for a tall baby as my LO is 95th percentile for height (but slim and much lower for weight). At what age did you start using a jumperoo?

We had the finding nemo one, both DC loved it! And we started using it for short amounts of time from 5 months, putting a small cushion behind them to begin with, and only for about 10 minutes at a time till they got stronger.

Definitely try to pick one up second hand - mine didn't really like it and we only used it for a few months for short periods anyway. We had the fisher price one.

Def second hand. People are desperate to get rid of them as they are so big and bulky. I got ours for a tenner off FB and will be able to resell it for the same!

Ours is Baby Einstein one I think (RRP a whopping £70 apparently!) but they're all much of a muchness.

Jumparoos are actually banned in a lot of countries because of how damaging they can be OP and a lot of people think ‘oh it’s okay it’s only ten minutes here and there’ but they’re not safe. Your babies joints aren’t fully formed and these encourage him/her to jump therefore putting force and pressure. Please google

plenty other options to entertain your child. Many midwives and HV are advising against them

There're perfectly ok once baby gets to the stage of wanting to weight bear and not yet got to the stage of cruising in furniture. Secondhand jumperoos are easily available and not worth buying new as they are not used for long. Great for popping them into where you know they are safe and able to amuse themselves with the attached toys.

Thanks for the responses! I’m not totally set on getting one since our house is quite small. What are other good options for safely entertaining babies while you need to do something or eat once they grow out of the baby gym? Just put them on the floor with toys?

We got a second hand a Rainforest jumperoo from Fisher Price. Baby absolutely loved it from about 5-6 months old.
Now we have it in the bathroom and he still occasionally goes in there at 14 months old while I'm having a shower!

Can't think of anything else that keeps them amused and stationary while you eat, except a jumperoo type equipment. 'Walkers' are dangerous and door bouncers are a bit of a faff.
