9mo old refusing food

My LO is just getting over a sickness bug (no vomit for 48 hours now thank god), but is now not eating much at all. Even on the days she was sick she was eating more (all bland food like toast, banana etc), but today she’s just not interested it seems.

The day started well with her having most of her morning bottle and then ate almost all of her porridge. Lunch was less successful; she had a few nibbles of toast and maybe 5 spoons of a fruit purée.

For tea I gave her chopped chicken breast, tattie wedges and some carrots to pick on and she just completely freaked out and got so upset. Wouldn’t entertain even trying some. I ended up mashing her a banana and she ate most of that.

I’m worried that the times she has puked at tea time during the bug has given her negative associations or am I being a typical FTM and over thinking?

I am never really sure how much food fills their little tummies tbh and I usually give her some yogurt if I feel like she’s not had enough, but have been trying to avoid dairy due to the bug.

I’m rambling now, just wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences?

She also may be teething, lots of poking at her gums today, so could that be a factor?

You're right, it's FTM nerves and you're overreacting.

She wasn't that hungry at dinner time today.

She'll eat what she needs and milk remains the most important source of nutrition until she's one anyway.

@NuffSaidSam thank you! It just worries me as she’s only taking 15oz a day (at best!).

Don’t worry, it’s completely normal to loose appetite after being ill.

And also completely normal for babies of that age to go off food for no reason at all.

As long as she’s drinking that’s the main thing. Just keep offering food and she’ll get back into it in her own time.

Dehydration is more of a worry than food intake, so long as she's drinking a bit you'll be ok.

When I was ftm DD did this and I went out and got all kinds of crappy kid snacks she couldn't normally have!
Now I can tempt them by making a special milkshake (ice cubes, milk, banana or other fruit, maybe some choc powder whizzed with a blender, add oats if you want it to be filling) or nice fruit like grapes. Or buy something with a TV character on it :)

You might find it works better to have a plate of snacks on hand to pick at rather than sitting her down to a full meal.

Thanks both :)
