Should I be worried? I'm panicking she had it on her hands and had a tantrum and ended up smacking half of it into her mouth Sad

It's fine. She may get a tummy ache if it doesn't agree with her, but that's the worse that could happen and still unlikely.

pbdr · 31/10/2022 19:03

I'd count it as one of her 5-a-day and give myself a par on the back!

She's fine.

Krustykrabpizza · 31/10/2022 19:06

I don't understand why you'd worry about your child eating some vegetables/fruit (?)

Where did you buy the pumpkin from? The supermarket ones aren't meant to be eaten but you can eat farm picked pumpkins.

GingerbreadPanda · 31/10/2022 19:09

It's fine, it's edible raw just not particularly nice.

BeastOfBODMAS · 31/10/2022 19:11

Hands up whose toddler hasn’t eaten raw pumpkin today?

The supermarket ones are perfectly edible. They just don't have much flavour as they are grown for carving and most people just discard the flash.

nannync · 31/10/2022 19:13

Do you know that pumpkin is food?

What's the problem Confused

MOTY1995 · 31/10/2022 19:14

Jesus wept 🤦🏻‍♀️

Megapint · 31/10/2022 19:15

unless it was covered in bleach why would it be a problem?

Hugasauras · 31/10/2022 19:17

First baby OP? Grin

She'll be fine.

SudocremOnEverything · 31/10/2022 19:17

It’s kind of amazing. The idea that pumpkins aren’t actually a foodstuff.

My toddler has eaten a pile of crap tonight. A bit of raw pumpkin would be better than a pack of haribo and some chocolate buttons!

VacancyAtNumber10AGAIN · 31/10/2022 19:19

I wish mine had ate the pumpkin compared to the other shit she’s had tonight 🤣

Your DD will be absolutely fine, remember the first crawling months where you needed eyes in the back of your head? They’ve ate far worse than raw pumpkin! Enjoy your Hallowe’en

Maybe some confusion between raw chicken and raw vegetables 😅

sunglassesonthetable · 31/10/2022 19:27

what's the problem? It's a vegetable.

It's a lot better than most of the crap our kids will be inhaling tonight.

GingerbreadPanda · 31/10/2022 19:32

It's not such a stupid worry as people are making out though, there are veg that shouldn't be eaten raw like potato or rhubarb etc. (both of which are technically poisonous but fine in accidental toddler quantities) or where the seeds/skin shouldn't be eaten.

nicknamehelp · 31/10/2022 19:37

I've eaten supermarket ones before silly me thought as in veg aisle where edible also eaten raw potatoes love them...

BirmaBrite · 31/10/2022 19:39

Raw potatoe and rhubarb are poisonous ? We used to love a raw chip when we were children, or several and were often given a stick of rhubarb and a bowl of sugar to dip it into ?

FlakeySalt · 31/10/2022 19:40

Did she take the tea light out first?

GingerbreadPanda · 31/10/2022 19:45

The potato/rhubarb thing is genetic some people are fine, some people arent, it's a particular chemical I think?

Pixiedust1234 · 31/10/2022 19:46

Oh dear, I thought op was going to be light hearted about this Blush

She will be fine but might have tummy ache tonight. If shes never done anything like this before then its time to put locks on all cupboards and put everything away properly. It can be a phase for some, not all toddlers do it. Although ours did try and knaw on a joint of beef while we were unpacking the shopping once. Never left her alone again 😂

Cosycover · 31/10/2022 19:59

Eh?
It's food

Herejustforthisone · 31/10/2022 20:34

To the poster saying they’re not designed to be eaten, they’re grown for shape so have fuck-all flavour and are very watery, they’re not dangerous.

My dog ate three whole ones today. He’s fine.

What did you think might happen, OP? It’s just a raw vegetable. Probably pretty good for her.
