Do you want a velcro fit wrap or popper? How is the rise on the kuchies one for you - too high, low or just right (testing your memory now)

babyjjbaby · 28/01/2008 22:33

just right i don't know if poppers will go small enough sorry took a while to reply i had to go and feed the baby fish

The Medium Motherease wraps will fit nicely methinks as they are almost exactly the same size when done up (slightly different shape though). You have a choice of Rikki (Velcro) or Airflow (popper fit) The popper fit Airflow is very adaptable to the babies changing shape as you can adjust around the legs and waist separately.

Totsbots wise I think the kushies one measures up between the sizes (I only have a size one to hand (size two in sleeping DDs bedroom). The size 1 is about 1.5cm lower in the rise than the kushies. The waist fitting is smaller, the tots size 1 has to be on the midway setting on the waistband to get it to be the same as the kushies on the smallest setting IYSWIM . tbh I think you would want the size 2 tots. That said if poss go for the Motherease over the tots as they are far more reliable for most people. Tots older style wraps do not have leg gussets so bear that in mind.

Did you see my link for Kushies wraps? They are quite cheap new I thought. Might be best to stick with what you know if you can. The one you have there is (I'm 99% certain) a size 1 - I have a size 2 kushies AIO here and it is huge in comparison to the wrap.

babyjjbaby · 28/01/2008 22:51

thanks i might get some new ones but can't afford them yet if i buy them new i need to be able to afford about 3 of them as for the postage what is the shape differant to on the mothereasei would probably stick to velcro does the poper waist go as small as kushie sorry for ?????

OP posts:
BigBadMouse · 28/01/2008 23:00

Yes the popper airflow waist goes to 15cm across - same as my kushies one I have here. The elastic is hidden and softer on the motherease btw (unlike the kushies). The rikki is cut slightly thinner between the legs than the kushies. The gusset on the rikki is deeper. I haven't used the Kushie wrap myself so can't compare their reliablity with the rikki or airflow.

What nappies are you using? (getting you back with further Qs)

babyjjbaby · 28/01/2008 23:19

i use mothercare terry squares

OP posts:
babyjjbaby · 28/01/2008 23:20

intresting bout the popper one as i thought that wouldn't go as small in all honesty i haven't really tried any other wraps properly

OP posts:
BigBadMouse · 28/01/2008 23:35

Hmmmm... airflow may not work as well with terry squares. The velcro ones (Rikki) hold the nappy shape better - the airflow ones are a looser fit around the main part of the anppy (to allow the air to flow around the nappy underneath).

If you rely on the wrap to hold the nappy in place a little bit, then velcro might be the best way to go. If you have got on well with just pull on waterproof pants over your terry squares in the past then airflows would be fine too (I think it all comes down to how well you fold your nappies - my method needs improving).

btw Airflow wraps go down to Extra Small just like the Rikki ones (they are really cute ).

Durrrr...should have remembered you use terry squares - we only discussed this a few days ago (memory not good these days)

babyjjbaby · 28/01/2008 23:40

i will be on the look out for some rikkis then i can't stand pull up plastic pants they drive me mad i will try and get some cos i really could do with some i will be on the look out tomorrow thanks for ur help

also do u know of any nappies which are real slim fitting especcially between the legs

OP posts:
BigBadMouse · 28/01/2008 23:59

Yes there are several which are slim fitting between the legs. What age baby and what sort of shape? Tall, thin, short, chubby legs etc etc?

Do you need something quick drying? I know you were looking at fluffles a while ago - they can be bulky but between the legs they are so soft so they sort of squish up like your terries do . Getting clothes over them can be a challenge at times though.

babyjjbaby · 29/01/2008 00:16

actually i think i will stick to my terries need to get some wraps thank for advice i 'lln ever stop using my terries so might aswell not bother looking for differant ones

OP posts:
BigBadMouse · 29/01/2008 00:48

Nope, stick with what you know works for you I say. Experimenting with differnt types can be expensive these days IME. When the nappy lady classifieds was really busy you could almost try some out and sell them on with minimal loss now it's not so easy. I've got tons of nappies here in my trial kits, sometimes a pretty pocket one calls to me from the bucket and I give it a go...but I just prefer what I usually use each time. Very basic, not overly pretty, does job really well.

Saw some of those Kushies wraps on ebay btw.

Might be worth asking other 100% terry square users what wraps they find work well.

babyjjbaby · 29/01/2008 09:55

thanks i have managed to get a motherease one for £4 i think the only one i would like to try is the prefollds whichh when i see some cheap i will get some

OP posts:
BigBadMouse · 29/01/2008 11:38

babyjjbaby · 29/01/2008 12:05

Hi sorry didnt get back to you last night but little one cluster feeds in evening until gone 11. I dont have a medium rikki wrap sorry only air flow of which i wouldnt use with terries but if you would like to email me as on thread above with your address i have three gusseted wraps you can have they are wraps that i used with prefolds one is a junior joy one is a bambino mio says large but i found it on the small size and one is a bumpy night time wrap that i found great as a daytime wrap but never tried at night. I haven't used them for about 3yrs so am not sure how good they are but then some of my wraps are 8 yrs old and work fine. Even if they are not that good they will give you an idea of other wraps without it costing you anything. I also have lots of prefolds and cotton bottom wraps that are unused or used lightly if you are interested in purchasing some cheaply let me know what you are after as i would rather they were of use to someone than just sitting in my cupboard.

babyjjbaby · 29/01/2008 14:41

how much do u want for the 3 mentioned thanks

OP posts:
jes74 · 29/01/2008 14:44
