Hi Moms,
Would you have liked if there were hair turbans for our girls (3-11) after shower so less harmful heat would be applied?

Like these? They are fine, stay on a bit better than a regular towel.
I don't blow dry kids hair anyway unless we are in a rush

Me and the kids use them. Dd is 18 and still uses them. Ds hair isn’t very long but takes ages to dry so I put one on him too.

Mine and ds’ is fine but a lot of it, dds is curly and thick and alot of it. I never used heat them but they do speed up drying time.

Me and dd also have silk bonnets to sleep in.

Thanks, I’ll get those for my daughter. I got silk pillowcases and it helps a lot; I have got thick middle eastern hair however many of African American ladies also use those Bonnets my friends tell me

I've got thick curly hair and use a bonnet sometimes as it keeps it from going frizzy and protects it from becoming too tangled up. I love mine.
This is the one I use https://www.silkelondon.com/products/silke-hair-wrap?currency=GBP&variant=40395223892004&utmsource=google&utmmmedium=paid&utmcampaign=974330357&utmmcontent=70685672155&utmterm=&twwsource=google&twadid=614594795669&gclid=Cj0KCQjwkt6aBhDKARIsAAyeLJ3AfhgnoTlnN02i4nKGS0LG1UJ6NmhDiuIHfnmgceUqLF8f4jpIevEaAqdBEALwwwcB

My daughter and I also use terry towel turbans out of the shower but those I just bought at primark of something. They stay on really well. I only blow dry if I'm wanting sleek hair.

Silk pillowcases are good too. Depends on what you are trying to achieve. Dd wears one as it keeps her curls intact and stop frizzing. Silk pillows didn’t help with that.

I use my bonnet because I get breakage round my hair line, in part due to how I sleep with my head buried in my pillow(a silk pillow would do the same for that) . But also because it helps the rest of my sleek and shiny on day 2 and 3. Again the silk pillows didn’t achieve this.

Silk pillows are really good for the skin on your face, apparently.

My friend raves about Bambonns for this purpose! Not tried one myself as none of us have hair that needs it, but she has them for herself and both her DC.

They exist already, normal size ones fit fine with a few extra twist. (But so does a hand towel, we only have a turban because came with a bundle of things fron Freecycle) As for harmful heat, it's not a thing here, our hairdryer gets a couple of uses a year if that.

Just make a normal towel into a turban. Whats the difference?

They do stay on kids heads better - they have a button at the back of the neck to hold the top of the twist and they are lighter and smaller so a child can keep one on for longer while doing other things without it falling off or weighing thdir head down.
