18 month DS, I don’t remember it being this hard :-(

I’m really struggling with DS3 at the minute. He’s 18 mo and cries a lot every day, tantrums & just a lot of crying. I don’t reminder my older ones being this hard work! Can anyone relate? Everyone says ‘he’s such a smiley boy’ & he is at points during the day, but I guess I’m focusing on the crying more now! He’s so bloody whingey!

I found this age hard with my 1st and I think it’s because at this age they’re very aware of what they want but they can’t communicate it to you yet. At least that’s what it seemed to me. I found once he turned 20ish months his communication had come along and he seemed less frustrated.

1-2yrs old is soooo tough- it’s drags as well. The tantrums, the sheer physicality of that age too. Get out as much as you can, ignore the tantrums and remember it passes!

Same. I honestly didn’t like being with mine much at 16-18 months. By 19 months we’d turned a corner and honestly from 20 months onwards he’s delightful and very easy - mostly. It was the tantrums and the whingeing that really got me down.

It’s really tough but I think we blank it out! Hang in there, he will come out the other side x
