3 year old vomiting! Very worried

Looking for advice, what would you do.

3 year old started vomiting randomly Thursday night.
Called nursery on Friday to say he wouldn’t be in.
Nursery said there’s a bug going round.
He was sick all of Friday and Saturday. Saturday he was sick all night and I nearly called 111 as he couldn’t keep any fluids down but then Sunday he seemed to improve and was sick 11am but then No more vomiting until this morning (Monday morning) when it all seems to have started again - I thought he was getting better 😫
During this time he has eaten nearly nothing and any small thing he does eat come straight back up. Today he has eaten a handful of grapes (his choice) nothing else - and he has vomited these up.

I am now debating whether to ring 111 now or to wait and call doctors on the morning. my concern is if 111 say to take him into hospital that means waking him up and massively unsettling him - a long wait in hospital to be seen, being kept awake for long periods of time when he wants and should be sleeping. I feel like rest is good for him and I don’t want to disrupt that or upset him unnecessarily.

Im really unsure whether to wait till
Morning and just ring the doctors first thing in the morning, or do I ring 111 now? Or do I ring 111 in the morning and forget the doctors?? I don’t know what to do. Partner is telling me not to worry and it’s just a sickness bug and he’ll be fine. I really don’t know what to do for the best 😭😭😭

Just call 111. Hopefully it’s not anything major, but it’s best to get advice after a few days in a child so small, as he may well be dehydrated.

Call 111

I would definitely seek advice, it’s probably a bug but better to be safe !! The advice below is off the NHS website;

When to get medical advice

You should contact your GP if:

your child is repeatedly vomiting and is unable to hold down fluids
you think they're dehydrated – symptoms of dehydration can include a dry mouth, crying without producing tears, urinating less or not wetting many nappies, and drowsiness
their vomit is green or contains blood
they have been vomiting for more than a day or two
Go to your nearest accident and emergency (A&E) department if your child is vomiting and develops sudden and severe tummy pain, or they're floppy, irritable or less responsive

Call 999 for an ambulance or go to your nearest A&E department immediately if they're vomiting and have a headache, stiff neck and a rash.

How is he in himself? It's probably just a bug but I think you need to take him not because it's necessarily something serious but because he may need to be treated for dehydration. This happened to my 3 yo a few months back and the doctors advice (who I called via 111) was that they needed to be taken in to be treated for dehydration because she was so listless. And it was absolutely the right call even though it meant a few hours at the hospital. At a very minimum I would be calling 111 now.

Dehydration happens really quickly so I would call 111 or take him to emergency care

111 will tell you to go to A&E so i would skip that stage and go straight to A&E. It's a long time for a child to be vomiting so worth checking out.

Call 111 OP. My friends little DD ( also 3 ) had similar last week and she ended up being admitted because she was so dehydrated. Two days of IV fluids after a nearly a week of not being able to keep anything down and she was much better.

This current bug doing the rounds here is nasty - hope your DC feels better soon.
