disclaimer: 111 have been called - waiting on a gp call back!
Not usually a poster but hoping for some collective wisdom! Little one had her 1 year imms 11 days ago. Started with a fever on Thursday pm and still has one when calpol wears off. Has a spotty rash on face and torso. She is so miserable & clingy and off her food but still drinking. Thought it would be done within 2 days but misery has intensified if anything! My first breezed through imms. I’m a scientist and vigorously provax but little guilty mom voice in my head is saying ‘YOU did this to her’. So sleep deprived and frazzled 😮‍💨

I don't think that's an unusual reaction is if? One of them, measles I think?, tends to come out in a rash a week or two after the jab. It's just a sign that it's working.

Measles vaccine side effects

Around 7 to 11 days after the injection, some children get a very mild form of measles. This includes:

a rash
a high temperature
loss of appetite
a general feeling of being unwell for about 2 or 3 days

These symptoms are not infectious, so your child will not pass anything on to non-vaccinated children.

Mumps vaccine side effects

Around 3 to 4 weeks after the injection, 1 in 50 children develop a mild form of mumps. This includes swollen glands in the cheeks, neck or under the jaw which can last for up to 2 days.

These symptoms are not infectious for other people.

Rubella vaccine side effects

Around 1 to 3 weeks after the injection, some adult women experience painful, stiff or swollen joints for up to 3 days.

I know it’s cited in the nhs info, I just don’t actually know anyone who’s child had this side effect, maybe a bit grumpy and a slight fever. Typical of my girl though, she’s a bit extra 😂

I remember DS being grumpy and not well about a week after his mmr. I admit, it didn't last long though.

But anecdotally, I had an extra MMR jab at university as there was a mumps outbreak and a week or so after that I came out in a rash and felt quite unwell for 24 hours.

I hope you hear back from 111 soon.
