How much milk should a 18 month old have?

I'm curious as to how many bottles your LOs still have around 18 months?

DS is nearly 18 months and has two bottles, one before nap and other before sleep.

He was breastfed up until 15 months but always had a bedtime bottle as part of Dad's routine.

He has plenty of other diary such as cheese, yoghurts etc.

I'm just wondering if I should be dropping the bottles. He has a dummy to sleep with too. I guess I'm worried about his teeth.

300/350mls is advised from 1 year (10-12oz). Dairy products and milk in cereal counts towards that figure.

Would he drink it from a cup instead?

Mine doesn’t have any milk to drink, but has porridge and rice pudding every day made with milk.

I guess it's been part of the sleep routine for so long, I worry about changing it up.

He could drink it from a cup. Would you just drop the bottle all together then?

Mine never had bottles, but still drink a glass of milk before bed. They are 18 and 16.

Yes you need to encourage them to use a cup because of tooth decay.

Also mine never had milk to drink after the morning to make her eat food. Her favourite foods still include natural yogurt.

Mine had none at 18 months. Maybe the odd sippy cup but she went off it. Hers calcium in many other foods though.

No bottles since 12 months. He has milk in cup with breakfast unless having cereal. He never fed to sleep though. Eldest was a bit more dependent on hers for bedtime but we swapped to a sippy cup and she then mostly lost interest and it phased itself out around 15 months.

Mine both stopped bottles at 1yo and switched to a sippy cup type thing for maybe another year?

I don't think milk is supposed to be a big part of their diet at that age apart from as a drink.

If his happy then leave it the way it is. It's fine

Mine has a cup of milk at start and end of day, dropped bottles entirely at 1 year.
He's big (lean but 98th percentile for height and weight) and enjoys it so I'll keep going until he doesn't want it!
