Up to what ages can a brother and sister happily share a room?

Not that we have any other options, but DS (4.5y) and DD (just 6m) will share a medium sized double room for the forseeable. DS can't wait to share, but how long before any of us start going crazy? Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any sharing tips?

mine shared till the eldest hit about 13. 1 girl, 2 boys.

I shared with my bro until I was about 7 and he was about 9. However, I think he was a bit desperate for some privacy by that point.

My two are 7.5 (dd) and 4 (ds). I think dd would like her own space, but ds loves sharing. They'll have to share for years yet as we can't afford to either rent or buy a 3 bedroomed house.

Thanks - I reckoned we'd get 3-4 years if we're lucky.

I'd say about 12, or until one of them hits puberty. They need more privacy when they are teenagers, I think.

Mine shared until dd was 10 and ds 6; about this time it became apparent that dd needed more privacy, particularly as it is a tiny room and she wanted to have her friends round.
