Question about Milton cold water steriliser

Once I've sterilised all the bottles can they then be put together and left for 24 hours to be used as needed or do they have to stay in the solution the whole time ? Asking because I've got six bottles with lots of bits so it's getting a bit full !!
Thanks

I had one of these with dd2 and unfortunately they need to be left in the solution to remain sterile, because as soon as you remove them from the water they are no longer in a sterile environment.

They don't need to stay super sterile as long as they are clean. I had a steam steriliser and once sterilised I assembled the bottles and used them within 24 hours. I imagine you could do the same with bottles from the Milton solution. Shake the excess out and assemble them once they've been in the right amount of time

You need to sterilise bottles primarily to remove any remnants of milk/formula etc. If you reassemble the bottles with clean handles and store them in a clean place, you'll be fine...

I used to assemble straight out of sterilizer and use them within a few hours.

This is what I used to do with an electric steamer when we had ds just didn't know if it was the same for Milton! Pain fishing everything out

I just always assumed I had 24 hours like electric sterilising!! Been 8 months so far and all ok!!

Okay so once I've washed the bottles out ready to go into the steriliser, can I keep them on the side ready to go in? So without putting them all in at once I can instead sterilise two at a time and just drop the clean bottles in as needed ?

You can. You can also add stuff at different times, as long as you then wait the 15 minutes minumum time to take anything out.

You can also just take out things as you need them, as long as the 15 minute minimum time passes before you go in for something else.

I found cold water sterilisation much easier.

Change the solution every night, put bottles/dummies in, go to bed. Use as needed throughout the night/day, and repeat.

I've always sterilised, drip dried and put the top back on and left a while before using again.
