7 month old constipation, help!

My poor LO has been constipated since starting solids at 6 months. At first we managed to get her back to normal with lots of P foods, then back to constipated and nothing was working, then she was prescribed lactulose which worked in 48hrs but then stopped working altogether, now she’s been on movicol since yesterday but nothing yet!
I’ve been using Vaseline on a cotton swab and it clears a bit of blockage but I can see how torn she is when I hold her legs up to help it come out but nothing seems to be clearing it.

anyone have experience with this kind of thing?
How long should I wait for the movicol to get through?
can I give her a glycerin suppository if she’s taking movicol too?
should I be worried about impaction the longer it goes on?
Can anything be put on her fissures to help them heal or will it only happen once the constipation is under control?

thankfully she doesn’t seem in too much pain but she tries and tries multiple times a day and only ever manages to pass small pebbles no matter how much prunes, or lactulose or now movicol she has.

Have you tried giving orange juice or apple juice to drink? Mine bother drank more when it wasn’t water (they were still fed on demand) and the fruit juice really helped.
I am aware some people frown on anything other than milk or water but it worked for us

She’s pretty good with water but I have done a bit of juice from an orange squeezed in to see if that helps, but I’m a little worried about giving her too much water and unbalancing her electrolytes as she’s only 7 months and she’s already had a full 2oz with the movicol and more throughout the day

The docs told us it takes around 2 days for the Movicol to kick in- which seems to make sense for our kids. I’d also make sure you’re mixing it exactly with the ratio liquid to Movicol if you can do it works most effectively although I know it’s hard to get it in them when they are little.

Weve got a 7 year old who still sometimes needs a sachet and an 18 month old on a regular dose and they’ve never been impacted properly and they have gone through periods of being very uncomfortable with it. So fingers crossed it won’t get to that for your little one.

when my eldest was first majorly constipated at 8 months old she passed what looked the size of a large golf ball and was in pain but she didn’t have any fissures.

Keep giving foods like butternut squash, pears, live yogurt etc. They say banana is firming but my son ate a whole one while constipated and had a poop explosion! (also one time i ate 9 banana muffins at once and didn't leave the bathroom that night).

Stomach massages throughout the day, and keep giving laxatives. It takes time to work. You might find that once the hard bit comes out, the next nappies are very very soft!

Ellas kitchen prune pouch. Works like a charm

Oh I saw you have given her prunes. Have you tried the pouch itself?

Another thing I recommend is Frida baby gas passer. Similar to the cotton bud
