What does your 18 month old play with?

Mine just doesn't seem interested in anything. Will maybe push a few cars around. Maybe play with stacking cups? I was thinking of waiting until Christmas but I think I need to get some new things sooner.

I think it's important to remember all children are different and do things at different ages. At 18mo mine were into dolls and prams, duplo, happyland, pop up toys and things you can turn. What do they like doing?

Mine is just older by a month or so but at that age and still now quite likes stacking rings, those simple wooden puzzles that have animal shapes they can remove and put back in the right places, and also starting to enjoy scribbling with crayons but a big MagnaDoodle is also a hit and much less messy. Enjoys bouncing balls around and pushing big toy cars and things. Cuddly toys are a hit too and a little doll’s pram to push them around in. May have to cave and buy an actual doll soon as she’ll try to put a nappy on anything that stays still long enough! But mainly she just wants to watch Peppa and ignores them🙈

Mine loves his toy kitchen, we’ve had it a few months and he still uses it every day. Other favourites are a doll with a bottle, toy cars, stacking rings/blocks, and a cardboard box he likes to collect other toys in before pouring them out again 😁.

One thing I have found is that he plays better if he has less options available to him… so if I put 1-3 out on the floor he’s more likely to play than if he has free access to his toy box.

He seems to like wheels! He does have a pushchair which is sometimes used. I know they don't have a long attention span but he just doesn't seem interested in anything. Used to enjoy books. Doesn't like puzzles but does like stacking rings. Started to enjoy crayons so a magnadoodle is a really good idea! I think a kitchen for Christmas is a great idea!! Thank you

Mine likes mega blocks, her stacking cups and her rocking horse thing. She loves books especially lift flap ones and loves her tissue box toy but totally unbothered by everything else she's got. She prefers playing with things that aren't actually toys

Anything that that see you using e.g saucepans, mixing bowls and wooden spoons on the floor. Toy tea sets, doll, crayons and paper.

Playdoh, sand, water table, baking with me, dry pasta (sorting, pouring from one vessel to another), colour and shape sorting toys, books.

Alternative to magna doodle is an aquadoodle. I’ve ordered a giant one for my LO for Xmas!
