Constant crying all day

My little one is going to be 4 months on the 11th, the past 2 weeks have been absolute hell for the both of us.

She just cries and cries all day, the only time she doesn't is come bed time! And even then that's a struggle, she also refuses to nap during the day!
Taken her to the doctors and they can't see anything wrong and that it's just a stage, please tell me it gets easier? I'm in tears by the end of the day! 😢

:( we had this all through month 4 and 5 and then things got so much better. I think it was colic and a tongue tie for us. It’s so hard but it really does get better I promise

I'm so sorry, that sounds really hard! Is there any way you can get her to nap? Carrier, bouncing on exercise ball, nursing her in bed, stroller, white noise, dark room, in the car, anything? If you can find a way to get her asleep 90 minutes after she wakes in the morning she will possibly nap better the rest of the day which will hopefully help with the crying.

Babies go through a lot of development at that age so they do fight sleep as there are so many more exciting things to do. It's so hard!

DS is almost 16m now but he cried constantly up until fairly recently. He's coming out the other side now but is still quick to cry when something isn't right and cries incessantly when he needs a nappy change or when getting dressed.

It has been HARD, i can't deny that.

However, ds1 was very similar (he's 9 now) but from 18m onwards has been an absolute delight so I live in hope for DS2 😀

She's been a absolute dream up until 2 weeks ago, I'm not sure what's changed but she gets herself in such a state it can take me up to a hour to calm her back down.
I've tried all sorts, I really am hoping it's just a stage and she will come out of it very very soon as it's very distressing for the both of us 😢

Could also be teething 🤷🏻‍♀️ you could try teething gel to see if there is an improvement.

DD1 was relentless....... she had a funny cry like a humming. Like she was breathing out, weird.... try to listen to see if the crying sounds different. DD2 and 3 did a similar-ish noise when teething.

Btw; DD1 teething was the first time I gave her paracetamol. I was going insane!!!! She was constantly crying for like 3/4hrs!

@grey12

I asked them to check at the doctors and they said she isn't teething... she just goes absolutely crazy screaming and crying for no reason at all 🙈

When I asked at the doctors they weren't very helpful......

But you can check if their lower gums have a red line. That's the tell tale sign, even though the child may complain before then.

If it isn't teething, I hope they get better very soon 💐

Have you got the wonder weeks app. At 4m she's bang in the middle of a leap. I found, while it didn't change anything, having the app gave me a reason which made me feel better 😂 if that makes sense.

4 months is a hellish age! A fussy, sleep regressing nightmare!

My DD never cried all day, but cried a lot more and I remember thinking “omg this is worse than the newborn stage”.

it will pass, I promise x
