Covid and 8 week baby vaccinations?

Hi!

As the title suggests really…me and DH both tested positive for covid last Thu. Our DD is 8 weeks and also exhibiting cold-like symptoms so she must have caught it too.
On Sun she had some low-grade fever and was quite sleepy, but the past two days and today the only symptoms remaining is congestion (nose/back of throat sounds quite phlegmy).
She has her 8 week vaccination scheduled for Friday. I read that if a baby has a minor illness such as cold (with no temperature), they do not need to postpone vaccinations.
So I was ready to bring her on Friday, but spoke with our GP earlier about her symptoms and asked and he said to reschedule to when she’s totally fine.
That being said, he also said these symptoms might drag for a week or two, and as it is virus we can’t give her anything so need to wait for it to run its course.

I’m looking for either someone who’s been i the same/similar position to share what they did or if we have a doctor in the group to share professional opinion.
Do I need to postpone or not?
I’m also not clear what happens if we need to postpone- aren’t these vaccinations at specific times and it’s important to stick to them?!

I don't think it makes a difference if you postpone by a week or two. When the nirser booked dc in for a vaccination she looks for availability roughly around the 8 week (or 12 weeks, etc) mark but didn't mind moving it a few week before or after to find a date that suited us both.

If you tested positive for COVID last week it might also be safer for the staff and other patients there if you postpone the vaccination.

If there is a chance that your baby has Covid you can't attend the surgery for protection of staff, other patients and services. If your baby just has minor viral symptoms they could have the vaccine but the problem is the risk to others. Rebook for a week or two later.

re the comments about risk to staff and other patients - we won’t be contagious at that point as it would be 10 days, and we’d wear masks. As to the baby apparently they’re only contagious for up to 3 days from exhibiting symptoms, so again, no risk there.

I would postpone until baby is well.
It doesn't matter if they're done a week or two late.

If a doctor has advised you to postpone, then it's probably best to postpone

If GP has advised you to postpone the in injections you should follow that advice.

@Lilbunnyfufu since this was back in September last year I'd assume that OP has sorted it 😅
