16 week old vaccines and I am so done with this

FTM to a very fussy baby. She was colicky and suffers a bit from reflux so it’s been quite hard at times.

8 week and 12 week vaccines were hell.
16 week one yesterday - she has not slept for more than an hour since she got it and won’t stop screaming and crying. She has no temperature or is poorly. It’s just the way she is after her vaccines as we took her to hospital last time to be told nothing wrong. I feel bad for her that she feels so awful afterwards. She won’t take calpol as she spits it up.

she’s a very fussy and demanding baby. I’m also not feeling well as have a very bad cold and want nothing more than to stay in bed so my patience is wearing thin. My husband has gone to work today but he helped a lot last night so I have got some rest but I still feel crap.

i don’t know why I’m posting here. Just crying this morning. Normally I can deal with the harder times a bit better than this.

Sometimes I just find parenting really bloody hard.

This was me! I had a colic/acid reflux baby, we had to have medication in the end for DC. DC is now laying on me asleep at 5-6 month's old and is an absolute joy! The first few months were really tough for us as DC was quite miserable a lot of the time due to colic/acid reflux. DC now is a completely different baby. It WILL get better!

Parenting is bloody hard. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Just remember she settled eventually after her last injections, so just hang on in. Do you have anyone near who could just take her for a walk for half an hr, so maybe you could grab a cuppa and paracetamol?

Totally with you 🤍 One of mine was like this. Didn't sleep much, colicky, had to have gaviscon and omeprazole (have you tried?), once they got older turned out they had CMPA and some other food allergies. Mostly resolved as got older. But it was hell!!!!

So hard when they spit calpol back up, too. I found gaviscon did help with that if given before the calpol.
Don't be afraid to call GP or ask your husband to take a half day/out sick to help look after you both. It's a one off and you'll get better faster with care, good food and vitamins!
Order in all your food today or get dh to being you your favourite. Hopefully she will sleep soon and so can you xx

Oh you poor thing, you are in the trenches right now. I had a colicky refluxy baby too and I actively hated motherhood at this point and thought I’d made a terrible mistake and ruined my life. It gets better and better with each passing month, I promise. New challenges yes and illnesses/vaccination side effects will always put a spanner in the works but I found with every new skill she gained she became happier and more settled and I enjoyed her more and more. She’s 19 months now and I’m head over heels in love with her and enjoy being a mum so so much. I know that feels like a lifetime away to you now but hang in there xx

I had a baby who refused calpol etc. The solution was paracetamol suppositories which were a god send. They are hard to get prescribed in uk (i had to apecifically ask for them and said he is in pain) but easy and cheap to get in the continent over the counter so after the first time i got them when i was away or ask friends when they are traveling. You need to know the baby's weight. They were just just just amazing as you know they are getting the medication they need.
