Hi All,
as European who has been living in London for 20 years I still find myself at loss when trying to understand the cultural differences with British culture.
Since I had my daughter 8 years ago I really struggle with the clues sent by other parents and find difficult to interpret the signs. Can someone please explain to me why when you send a message inviting their child for a playdate they other say yes straight away or you will never hear from them ever again? Is no such an oscene word in the British culture? I cannot comes to term with the fact that this attitude is a strike contrast with an otherwise extremely polite and respectful culture. Thank you for any insight you might have!

I can't say I've ever found this tbh. I'd probably look a bit closer to home for an explanation and not blame 'British culture'.

NuffSaidSam frankly I find this attitude unnecessary and very unhelpful. Take care

Not sure that's exclusively "British culture"...

I wonder why people don't respond to your messages and choose not to contact you? Are you sure you shouldn't look closer to home? It's probably worth just having a little think about it.

@TooManyMoronsHere probably but this has happened to me only with British people…
